Couldn’t find a dedicated thread for the Moon. Only for the Noon.
Anyone got one already? How do you like it and how do you use it? I feel there is much more to explore. It has many input and output possibilities.
This was my first session with it. In this one I only used channels 1 and 2.
I fed trigs into the two channels from marbles‘ T channels and I fed the X channels into its CV inputs.
On their Paige they say it is heavier, rounder and darker whatever that means.
Obviously there are far less channels. I like that it is less cluttered and to me it feels it might be a bit more immediate than the Noon. But I didn’t have my hands on the latter.
No sliders but four knobs on each channel. Still have to figure out what exactly the knobs do. Some seem to change pitch. Some seem to distort more. And behavior seems to change a bit with different CV incoming. But I got something going really quick.
Thanks, it does sound similar to Noon, really hard to define what some of the controls do because, as you say, it seems to vary depending hugely on the type of CV inputed to each channel and also what adjoining channels are doing too, It feels like curating chaos sometimes!
I bought the moon in hope it will provide me some very electronic sounding percussion that complement my acoustic drums but I couldn’t find out how to make it sound like some kind of drums yet. Maybe my setup has too long trigger signals or I need to find other settings.
Waiting for befaco Instrument Interface to arrive to be able to send trigs and gates directly from my acoustic drum signal. That will be really interesting.
I put a pre-order with the “secret batch” on the 4th of April. It says “Pending fulfillment”.
I hope it comes soon. We’ll play in Vienna in a month, and I really want to use it there.
