Hi fellow Elektronauts,
I was struggling to find a place to ask about this on the websites I use, but since this forum is populated by a diverse cast of people working with music, I thought this could be the right place.
So, I recently started working full time at a small record label I own with my friends. Yesterday we talked about managing all our data such as catalogue information, ongoing projects, contact information etc. It’s currently all smashed randomly into Google Drive and as the number of our artists and releases is growing, it’s increasingly difficult to keep track of everything. The manner of organization is something that I’d describe as controlled chaos.
I then set out to search for database / data management software aimed at record labels and came accross Label Tools. It seems like something we’re looking for but it’s very hard to find any info on the company or any actual reviews of the product. And all this mystery makes it seem a bit shady. But it’s fairly priced at $9,99 a month, making it a tempting option.
Are there any record label owners or workers here and do you have any experience of Label Tools? I also found some other suitable software but they’re priced higher and I’m not sure if we can afford any of them right now. Thanks for any help!
