Kurzweil K2061/88

Should be able to sample with those inputs too!

It has fewer I/o than the octatrack. But really, 4 outs on a synth like that with all the fx and voices and everything else, just seems not enough. Just missed the target imo. Why go thru the trouble of making a fully featured powerful modern sampler/synth/workstation and bottleneck the output?

Yeah it’s def lacking in I/O but I’m gunna get it anyways ahaha would be cool to run my K2vx into the audio input for extra fx maybe then back out and sample that into my sampler version of the older k2 ! But thank gosh this is coming out right before tax season I hope it’s 2000$ or less ! The PC4-7 71 keys is 1999$ brand new and it’s basically the same specs ! But the build on the new one is metal so that probably factors into price ! One thing I noticed on their new page is it claims it has new oscillators but I compared the k2700 and k2061 manual and they both have 25 oscillators hmmm  maybe someone else can dig around too and see but looks like If I do get the new one I can load all these thousands of .KRZ program files into it . Also if anyone needs k2000 programs hit me a DM and I’ll email them to you I think I have most all the ones you can find on the internet plus more I got from a dude I bought a usb floppy drive emulator from.

What do you need so many outs (4+) for? How many mixers do send your synths to?

Yeah most synthesizers have only one stereo output and on the new Kurzweils there is a master EQ so I’d be happy with just having the full mix I think it sounds better even on my K2vx keys I like the way it sounds being mixed in the unit itself. Only reason I would use the separate outs on my K2vx is sending drums dry out of outputs B so I can have crazy dark reverb on the synths. Or switch that around and send the non drum sounds out dry and have weird fx settings on the drums which also sounds really really cool and idm. Ahaha ranttttttt …….if you want 4 outputs buy a K2600

Ahaha I think I replied to you but was really pointing that towards the other guy

According to Sweetwater, the K2061 and K2088 will be released in February 2026:

I hope the estimate is a misprint.

Update: On Reverb, Kraft Music states an estimated shipping date of March 31, 2025.

Waiting to see if Elektron has something new for SB25 but I’m pretty sure I’m going to pick up a K2061. I learned synthesis on a 2500 so I’m looking forward to diving back in to VAST. Such an amazing and deep system for sound design

I did it. Can’t wait to see how VAST has improved over the last 30 years. Been watching videos and dreaming of the possibilities

There are rumors that the Kurzweil K20 series will be released in Germany on Thursday. Unsure about the rest of the world.

In stock in EU it seems too now Kurzweil K2061 – Thomann UK

I’m sure the 2061/2088 will sound every bit as amazing as the 2700 I have given its same same engine. I’m a bit jealous to miss out on the new synth patches that will come with the 2061/2088 but have been enjoying a load of new patches that Dave Weiser of Broadway fame (http://www.weisersound.com/) kindly shared - lots of really nice synth patches.

With Kurzweil it really is the sound.

My Kurzweil K2061 arrived today! :man_dancing: :mirror_ball: :tada:

I have never owned a Kurzweil workstation and fairly excited to learn the VAST architecture. The shipping box has been sitting in the cold for the past three hours. I will probably open the box later tonight.

My R&B hardware setup is finally complete (or maybe not).
