Interesting take on the 303 I’d say.
But I’m not into it at all.
Not into it either, I feel they are trying to stretch the Volca line too far.
They should’ve went all in and made a proper mono or poly synth incorporating these tube oscillators imo… or at least increased the pattern memory.
I like the sound!
Lfo rate and lfo int are shift functions, so does that mean there´s gonna be parameter jumps, or do the pots have a catch mode?
Only a single envelope for the filter, right?
It sounds really nice and the tubes are excellent, features are cool, looks like a hit.
I think they should make a granular one, and overthink if the world needs a sampler that can not sample form external audio (elektron, korg, why?)
Yeah a portrait oriented volca that looks a lot like an SP404 would SELL
…how many 303 rebirth momentums are out there now…?
Sounds quite nice, looks a bit naff, that blue macula killing window would have to be covered over though, or the blue leds removed. I’d like to hear some less driven stuff from it as I think the filter sounds quite nice.
They should make more Monotribe stuff Just better …
Osc pitch, level, saturation, cutoff, peak, envelope attack and decay, accent as well as lfo rate and intensity can be controlled with midi cc.
That‘s nice and I don‘t have to worry if there‘s a catch mode for the pots that control the lfo via shift function!
I had the Monotribe plugged into the OT for quite some time now, but recently swapped it with my Volca Bass that was getting kinda dusty.
Planned to mod the Monotribe to get rid of that click sound.
I forgot how nice the Volca Bass does slides and how massive it can sound, but that NuBass filter seems to be extra sweet and with such a midi implementation…it has midi control over accent!
looks nice, but the Volca Bass and Kick already cover the same territories of this Nubass.
I have both, but am a sucker for anything with a valve stage. Then again, I have an Electribe EMX and ESX already…
I dig it. I have had some fun with Volca’s in the past. I like the sounds in this video.
The sonic state vid sounds like a nice 303 box.
Their nu tek thing looks interesting too.
While I doubt I’ll get one, I think this has a lot of cool things going for it. Having a tone control totally makes sense on a small box. Sound is solid, and probably sounds really cool through an FX chain. And, of course, Nutube technology. I had pretty much forgotten about that. Nice to see it show up front and center (literally) in a commercial product. I think a lot of folks will have fun with this.
Update after hearing SonicState video:
Well, even with the YouTube compression on the audio, I have to say wow. The sound is really convincing.
It will be interesting to see if Korg uses the Nutube in other synths. Like if they do a Monologue XD or mk2 or whatever.
Are they still arbitrarily limiting the patch/pattern memory?
100% why I’ve never looked twice at a Volca
The point of the Volca line isn’t to build up some gigantic bank of patterns, you sit down with them and build something new each time you turn them on. It’s meant to be spontaneous and fun, especially to sprinkle little synced-up sequences into more complex pieces. The simplicity of their little sequencers means you can create a pattern, destroy it, rebuild, etc. I rarely actually save a sequence on a Volca.
