Unbelievable that at 11:33 in the video Marinelli asks for patch cords and Korg say they don’t have any. How can Korg not have any when demoing this synth? With Marinelli at your booth surely you would send someone to go and find some for him?
I have a feeling the patching circuit side of it isn’t built yet. Its the only explanation. Luke was embarrassed to admit.
I thought the same thing!
As @Landings suggest, they probably haven’t implemented all the functions yet.
“It’s a prototype” sounds better than what he said, so I don’t think that’s what happened, they simply didn’t have patch cords, that’s all.
Is there any picture of the front panel in decent readable resolution?
The PS-3000 revival isn’t the headline in this thread.
The headline: OMIGODWHATIFDIRTY.CAREISANACTUALDOG
Sounds mesmerizing with the Antonus Step Brother sequencing it. I’m guessing this one is a vintage unit, not an FS.
Of all the YT synth nerds this is the dude I trust to give me a thorough review. Love watching his videos and shorts. Seems like a really great person too.
Really nice; and demonstrates why a synth might need to be that polyphonic too.
This is the old one. The new one has menory added, and maybe some minor changes…
Looks like they will be made to order for $13k each. I’ve asked my Sweetwater rep for more info.
(Google seems to be dating the January articles to a few days ago, there doesn’t seem to be any truly new news other than a non-working prototype was shown)
Has anyone received an email yet? Im still waiting and it was supposed to be around now i believe.
Big update on this one overnight seemingly. The price I read earlier was ~€12k.
Interesting tidbit in the reissue manual in the Global Settings :
[PROG. 10] Faithful reproduction of the original sound
The original PS-3300 used a circuit that caused the low end of the output
signal to decay. The new PS-3300 lets you switch this circuit on/off. When
turned on, the circuit faithfully reproduces the sound of the original; and
when turned off, this emphasizes the low end.
Pressing the PROG 10 button (1-14-3) toggles between enabled (the LED
lights up) and disabled (the LED goes dark).
Keen to hear some demos once these are in the wild of how much of a difference it makes to the low end output
First production unit looks to have appeared out in the wild: https://www.instagram.com/p/DIbLmZVh-C9/
