Here’s a new thing I don’t think there’s a thread for yet?
Reminds me of the Alesis Strike Multipad in appearance, but weirder looking.

I hope that screen and transport section is built to take a beating…
Cheers!
My first thoughts. :S
As a drummer who plays on a similar product (Roland SPD-30), I’m going to have to echo your initial reaction @JohntheSavage, that screen is going to get rocked. It also just seems inconvenient to have to dodge such a central location of the kit with your sticks.
But besides that it looks pretty rad. It’s got a looper, lots of nice connectivity options. Drums are cool.
No midi in - so I guess no tempo syncd delay and fx / triggering from ext source.
Yeah I thought the lack of midi in was a bit meh.
I wouldn’t buy this to be MIDI sequenced by my DAW or any hardware sequencer, so no MIDI in doesn’t bother me.
A drummer who cannot play in time with other people or a click might not be worth having in your band anyway.
The location of that panel OTOH is quite unfortunate.
No synchronized looping either
Unless it does midi over usb maybe?
Echoing pretty much what others have said. If you want to perform with this live with a band and want to be tempo synced with other musicians, you’ve got to have the ability to go midi in. Guess my drummer won’t be buying this… Just looked up the specs: confirmed only midi out.
My word why would they put that screen right in the middle, imagine if that put a screen in the middle of a keybed
Im a drummer, theres no way I would buy this.
Screen is in a dumb place. And yeah, it needs full midi etc.
I’ve owned only acoustic sets, been waiting for the last 10 years to find the right one haha. The irony is I didn’t want to take up space, now that I have over 20 synths I feel silly
Still not that many real world reviews on this. I had a b stock Alesis Strike Multipad but it kept freezing so I sent it back…I am still interested in getting something like this. I’m not so bothered about the screen….the Alesis and Roland units also have a (larger) screen just under the pads, I’m just as likely to hit those! The real issue is that the screen has to be able to take a hit! 4 track Looper looks like a lot of fun…cc pads intriguing, sounds really good…ultimately it’s all about the pads, if they play well could be a winner when the price drops (I suspect it will settle a few hundred lower…
It has Midi in and out (and audio in out ) over USB so that’s not an issue for me…a usb to din midi lead is about 20 quid if you need it live.
The MPS-10’s top panel is hard coated polycarbonate with 2mm thickness, a material that has been used in percussion instruments that require extremely high impact resistance, and will effectively protect the LCD screen even with very physical performances. The knobs use highly durable metal shafts, and the shape of the plastic cover is designed to prevent excessive force from being applied to the inside of the knob shafts or the PCB. In addition, we have done heavy duty testing and the LCD, knob shafts, and panel surfaces have been hit several hundred times per location, and no breakage or malfunction has occurred. Therefore, we believe that the durability is sufficient to prevent breakage in normal use.
Although it boasts a stylish appearance, it is built to resist the adversities of the road and has successfully passed extensive and rigorous testing, making it a professional-grade equipment with no compromises in toughness.
the 4 track looper and those top edge pads are so cool. like a lil digitakt inside a drum pad. i want this thing. would be so fun to make percussive loops with it
There is a nice looper demo at the end of this video with a bass and synth
The round robin samples sound very good to me as well, and you can play it with your hands as well as sticks, definitely one to watch, just a little pricy as it’s only just come out,
So you can operate it with sticks as in this video?
Not sure I am any more likely to hist the screen from left to tight than I am down (as on the Alesis and Roland units) but its also a bit smaller so may be stronger! Quote from the web site-

I think this may be aimed at people more like me- studio/experimental drummers/loopers rather than using it with an acoustic kit live…Roland SPD has that market! I have Roland TDK27 Kit and a Nord drum 3P- this could be fun as part of that set up
When i was in the patent rabbithole last night I saw this “percussion instrument” patent. I should have realized it’s MPS-10.
Hey Slic. Where are you seeing 700 at? That’s not a bad price.
