I tried to post a link to one of a handful of Youtube videos of guys playing the Galbraith arrrangement of Round Midnight but this forum software went crazy and posted 4 copies of the video, so I gave up.
Anyway, they’re out there…

Cheers for that! Sorry you had to waste so much time. I ended up doing a YouTube search. Really like the arrangement.
It sounds good to me, and the price is right! They’re going to sell tons of these! To the guy that said " Because DSI is apparently the only synth maker to even think of live panel mode"
Moog has had activate panel or panel mode on all the Phatty models…including the Sub 37.
Novem

No worries! I figured you would like that.
I’m glad the 13 tunes in the book are ordered by difficulty level. “Round Midnight” is the 2nd to last in the book.
I’m working on “For All We Know” and “My Funny Valentine”, which are #1 and #3 respectively on the easier end of the spectrum. They’re much more minimal sounding, yet full of rich-sounding harmonies (both implied and actually played)
Nick/Sonic Lab’s Cool Tricks w/Minilogue video - some cool, dare I say Boards’ish sounds in there.
Sounds good. Can’t help liking something about the sound/simplicity of the minilogue. If they add transpose via keyboard to the sequencer and (non-workaround) latch to the arpeggio I’ll probably buckle and pick one up.
Edit - I was sure that A4/AK did the ‘record automation in to an empty sequence’ thing. But just had a quick go and either it isn’t as simple as I’d guessed it would be or it doesn’t do it… Guess I’ll go RTFM again
Sub37 has it too.
What I am really excited about is are the rumors that are going around that Korg is going to do a reissue of the Arp 2300. Shrink it down to 3/4 scale ala the MS20 mini. [/quote]
Dominion 1 too… I don’t understand why KORG dous all those remakes of other synth brands ( exept for the MS 20 ) but not there own like the MONO-POLY or even better the 770 ? I hope they’ll do the 770 in the future…

Yeah, between Nick’s and Mark Doty’s videos and Midera’s MnM videos, I’m stuck trying to decide which polysynth I want more. Each has something that’s appealing to me - they both have sounds that I like, one seems to have a lot more sequencing and sound design capability, but the other has the immediacy of the keyboard and a hardware UI closer to the one knob per function ideal.
And I do like that they both have their own character. Minilogue is not a Korg remake of anything and to me that’s a plus.
Sub37 has it too.

You’re welcome to buy my 770?

I would prefer a new version with CV -ins, but by couriousety - what’s your price ? Can cv - connections be build in ?
I bought the Minilogue yesterday and after some first tweaks I got good drone kind of sounds out of it. I love the noice of the delay!
Then I installed latest mididriver and the updater for iMac. I started the Minilouge in update mode, started the update.
After 3 minutes or so, the message “update failed. please restart the update” was displayed. But I could not restarted the update and the scan said “OS 1.11 (uptodate)”. The Minilouge still showed “in update mode” in the display. After 5 minutes of waiting, I switched the Minilogue off and o … oh nooo … it didn´t powered on. The display is still dark. no sound. Even pressing 6+8 while powering on didn´t helped.
Do you have any ideas what to do? Is there a test mode like for the Elektrons?
They’re back in stock at many uk retailers.
Go go go!!!
That sequencer is pretty cool.
Now I want one too.
@insect - any update on your update woes? Hope you got it sorted.
No the Minilouge was dead. We contacted Korg and the told us that the maybe have to check the board. So I got a new one from the shop … and still on OS1.04.
But not sure about the sound of the korg. You can do great fx sound. Also ringmod and cross mod sounds grazy with different waves of the 2 oscs. But I was looking for doing some pads … and for this, the oscs sound not sweet enough to my ears.
New “PG” limited edition.
I like it, still could do with some white or silver markers on the knobs though.
It would’ve been nice if they made an MK2 version with 16 step buttons like the Monologue, and gave it the ability to chain patches/patterns.
It is about the bare minimum they could have done to it.
and adding a little extra Curtis filter?
a minilogue to match the latest Elektron MK2s!
Tossing around the idea of getting a Minilogue to replace my 4 Monotribe poly chain rig.
Unless I do some soldering of caps, I will have to live with the clicks!
