I would bring in my 700 before it got too much snow on it.
MINE JUST SHIPPED! Shaking with excitement.
What? I want mine too. Lucky man.
Ordered from Sweetwater, who are you getting yours from?
I reserved mine last Summer at my local store (Moog Audio in Montreal). They say if everything goes as planned, end of February.
FYI: Musicianâs Friend has them in stock and if you call or chat to order it, youâll get a healthy discount.
Chuck Levinâs also has them in stock. and Sweetwater is taking pre-orders, due in June, which would be their final order of it.
so if youâre interested in one, nowâs the time to act.
Mine just shipped, too!! (Sweetwater)
Finally, youâll get yours before I do. Enjoy and report.
Youâre in Canada? The billion or so times I googled miniKorg 700 FS to see if it was available a store in Canada called Acclaim Music claimed to have them in stock starting at the beginning of January. I just checked and now it says theyâre discontinued (?). Anyway, it sounds like yours is a lock at Moog Audio, so youâll be fine! The anticipation is the best part.
I just got an email from my Sweetwater rep that he jumped the gun and mine was still back ordered. But luckily Musicianâs Friend has 8 in stock, so I ordered one from them. Should be delivered on February 8th. Since this is a new order, Iâm out on NGNY I guess.
There is some devices you just canât miss.
I spent about 15 minutes fiddling around with one of these last night at Patchwerks. I donât have a detailed review to post but I can tell you I was suitably impressed. It looked a little goofy to me so when the gal said I definitely needed to try it I was skeptical. But it sounded fantastic and all the knobs, switches and lil doodads were great fun to twiddle. I felt like the velocity response may have been slightly iffy but I also know nothing of this thing and had very little time so perhaps thatâs just down to settings of some sort. Overall I walked out very glad that she had suggested I give it a few minutes.
The sound is unreal. So much depth and character and it always sounds so musical and inspiring. I truly love mine.
The keyboard has no velocity response, you probably had expand on and attributed the contour behavior to velocity as you were moving the filters through their ranges.
That could easily be it.
that cave performance
the Syntaur videos are entertaining for sure. in this case, they didnât give a lot of information that isnât readily available though. it wouldâve been cool to hear their take on the idea of a reissue from a functional perspective, given that it most likely has surface mount components and is thus trickier to repair. and they run a business based off of helping people repair synths. so theyâd likely have an opinion on that. maybe they have in the past though, with some of the other Korg/Arp reissues.
I say this because they do have a unique perspective here⌠they donât repair synths, nor charge insane prices for pristine refurbs of vintage synths (looking at you, ToneTweakers.com). they exist mainly to provide parts for old synths, and the resources to make the relevant repairs. plus sell new synths, and a handful of vintage ones. their dog in the âvintage vs reissueâ fight isnât âplease buy our expensive vintage oneâ or âplease use us to repair your vintage one.â itâs more âhow would someone repair this?â
It arrived! Truly fantastic, what a high quality instrument. Keyboard feels delicious.
That triangle wave combined with the ring mod 2 is just delishuuush.
