thank you! sounds ideal, my E2 is on the way…will have a play around with the official firmware and then I plan to hack it pretty quickly
Hi, could you please send me a copy of the Hacktribe firmware.
Very kind of you to offer to do this, much appreciated.
Many thanks

hello, I have a black korg sampler and I wanted to install hacktribe, if I understood correctly the factory sounds would be lost and once accessed I would only have the additional synth parts and therefore the possibility of manually adding all the samples I want from the korg, having at available much more sampling time? after which I can extract the samples as a kit and it will load them automatically every time? thanks in advance for the answer and for the file riccardolisi1994@gmail.com
I have the firmware for the synth grey/blue.
I think for the sampler black/red you need another firmware.
But both firmware provide the same functionality.
I think all default sample are lost when using hacktribe for the sampler version.
And default sample for the synth version are lost as well.
But all the sample you will put into it will be keep upon reboot. Basically it’s just an Electribe with few functionality unlocked. Specifically the synth version has sampling.
The sampler version has access to all filter and more waveform/wavetable.
Are there any good reasons not to hack the black electribe deck?
Hello,
Someone can say me if it’s still possible to do it for the blue E2 ?
Thanks a lot
Hi, I’ve been looking for weeks how to get the patch it myself, but my computer skills aren’t that great and I’m tso in love with my E2 gray synth to kill it.
@yoyz2k could you send me the firmware hack by email?
There are several online, but I’m afraid that they are corrupt and I could block it.
I send you the binary thru email !
And don’t forget to make a backup of your sd card before doing the jump
( backup Electribe projet, and copying all the sd to your computer )
Then flash
Just picked up a Blue Synth one and was wondering if it’s worth putting Hacktribe on it?
What’s the pros and cons
Thanks
Cons - none. (Unless you like the preset samples)
Pros you can put your own samples on it, and get more synth waveforms.
I believe you can put the factory preset samples back on for the sampler version but not sure if you can for synth version.
Thanks for the reply
Does anyone know any where I can get the stock samples from that were for the E2s?
Thanks
I had it hacked for a few years, decided to try n flash back, and bricked it !
I updated my black one and it’s just great to have the extra filter types for my own samples - kinda criminal that Korg didn’t allow that in the first place.
Korg wanted to nickel and dime you into buying essentially the same device twice, a cheap cash grab.
Could same be said for DT/ST?
No, the DT and the ST are fundamentally different in their value proposition, in terms of prices and functions.
With the Electribe 2 and the Electribe Sampler, the only difference is a few functions in the firmware, nothing more. It’s the exact same hardware.
The ST has an analogue engine, the DT does not, the hardware is completely different.
Not only that but Korg managed to make some devices that were inferior to their predecessors (EMX/ESX).
All good points
Also, I guess Korg released the sampler and synth version at the same time
What I find really hurting is the OS is definitely not finished on those box.
Hacktribe give a bit of new functionality but there is so much thing to add… And so much potential, the sound engine is quite likable !
I use a bit hacktribe, but without being able to scale the timing of each track. This box loose lots of synchronization potential to other box.
How do you do a long loop ? Reducing tempo… Ok now on your other box you have to scale the tempo up… Doable but Awful
Hi sorry i forgot to ask what do i lose if i put hacktribe on my Blue Synth One??
Thanks
You loose all the sample used on the blue one. All the drum sample for example.
So you have to populate the blue one, with lots of drums.
And all your project used on the blue one won’t make any sound anymore.
So basically, think it as…. A one way trip to a new box with different capabilities.
