Honestly, probably because it’s quite boring
The “exciting” things about the album were apparently the live listening parties, the unlicensed samples, and seeking out serial abuser Marilyn Manson to add a guest vocal both for media attention AND so he could play Jesus once more and give him “forgiveness”.
I haven’t heard too much about the music over the manic stunts, I’ve listened to a few of the tracks but they haven’t matched any of the brilliance he had in the past.
Anyhoo, beyond the album is anyone selling the hardware separately?
I think the album was more a means to sell Stem Players more than being a knock out album.
I watched a video about Kanye’s lousy contract- he’s lucky if he makes a dime from his albums(which…you know…same…)
But this, I would think, is a way of actually making money from his album.
I’m totally OK with having no idea what the hell anyone is talking about in this thread.
I’m honestly surprised there’s an actual hardware product attached, with his current state of mind/behavioral performance the next step will be the usual securities scam NFTs of “unique remixes”.
If you could sync multiples, then my OT is done
Glad to know this exists.
I liked Donda. Most tracks were twice the length they should’ve been, but there was a lot of good stuff going on there all the same.
Is this considered “electronic music equipment”?
Hmmmmm.
I actually quite like Donda too. While it’s a flawed record (too long, tends to drag in sections) and obviously doesn’t hit the heights of his earlier projects such as college dropout, dark fantasy or my favourite of his… 808s & Heartbreak, it certainly has some great moments. ‘Come to life’ is a highlight for me.
I also find Donda is a grower and gets better after a few listens.
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is an absolute masterpiece, but it’s been downhill ever since. Sad to see an artist I used to respect slide downhill so fast. We listened to Donda once in my bookshop the day it came out and it was very cringy like basically everything Kanye does now. I blame the Kardashians. But I tend to blame reality tv for a lot of things that are wrong in the world.
…soooo…repetition makes the hit…how a sneaker could sound like…egoissues can go sonic…spatial fft treatment is soooo hot…kardashians are famous for being famous…
what else is new…?
let’s talk plastic…aaaand hey, let’s talk new world order…
new slaves now come in fresh new different colours these days…how faaaancy.
and amaaaaazing…of course…
maaaybee the earth IS flat…u never know.
Easy to test with the device. Wind up and roll it down the street. If it gains speed and makes its way into a gutter, the earth is round.
If it looses speed, flips over and get run over by a car, it’s flat.
…sounds suspicious…
Wasn’t the first iteration done by Teenage Engineering? If you look at some pictures of it you can almost sense that they took that RnD and applied it to the TX-6 mixer…
I was just looking at that today… I wonder if it might spin off to another field device?
Yeah, I had not seen this earlier…
The linked article states:
Before working with Kano, he worked with Teenage Engineering, which repurposed the developed product as an actual mixing device.
…before that donda desaster, i loved to ask random people…what kayne west album are u…?
i’m still 808’s and heartbreaks…of course…but those days are also over…damn…i start to repeat myself…at least i don’t join the teenage engineering rant choir…
now, do i get an anti participation trophy for that?
