Kaleidoscope is not open source, but open system. Any user can easily upload his/her own firmware with any custom third party app.
Also metaconformer has the same philosophy. Itâs easy to drag and drop your firmware.
Yes it is highly inspired by 8T ans A4, but also I change track concept. You have pages. But each page shows you parameters of all 4 track. To modify parameter you select one or more voices and rotate encoder. This is a good way to change several voices at the same time without need to change track.
Display always shows actual value of parameter. If it is modulated by some source you will see it.
Each modulator can modulate any parameter of any track. So you can make parametric side chains and so on.
For more details you can subscribe my channel @vadjuse. I am going to release detailed walkthrough in Febâ24
You are welcome with any ideas and feedback.
This looks fun! Very nice user interface. Will get one for sure
Took me a few seconds to realize that the iconography wasnât little alien icons, but a bar with the next steps dots on top.
Looks cool.
It actually sounds pretty good, has interesting features. I like it.
I become more and more intrigued as the video demos roll out.
Questions - do we know if this is still going to be released by Soma?
Does it cover all the territory of SimplexFM (and obviously a lot more) ?
Hello!
At the moment, Vadim is planning to release this under his own name. As for this tool, it is a deeper tool both in functionality and capabilities. Simplex, in turn, was made as an introduction to the concept of Kaleidoscope, but with a big eye on management with some simplifications. Now Vadim devotes a lot of time not only to architecture and sound, but also how the user will interact with it, since Kaleidoscope has many degrees of freedom and non-trivial solutions in terms of sound formation. Which partly forces him to delay the launch of sales. Perfectionism in all its glory. ))
you mean Febâ25?
iâm quite interested in this, but have no idea how it worksâŚ
Each video of this makes me more interested in it. Looking forward to seeing the upcoming deep dive video on features and operation.
