I thought it might be fun to try a trio of PO, Volca and Aira Compact. Having a lot of fun with the T-8. If you were to pick just one PO and Volca to go with it, what would it be? Don’t consider that the T-8 is drums. Just go with your favorite if there is a stand out. Sometimes a company hits a magic formula and produces something that stands out above the rest. Is there a standout in PO or Volca world?

Volcas are like ice cream, they all taste pretty good. I think genre of choice will play a big part in this, especially if you want a sampler or not.
Volca Drum and PO Tonic seem to be the special ones.
I’ve thought about this and I may add my Model Sample to the string for samples.
Po35 or po32 far and away the best as far as I’m concerned.
volca fm not bad although I ended up selling mine … wasn’t as good as dx200
Volca keys still packs a lot of punch as far as chords / layered notes and an analog sound with simplicity of use but it’s paraphonic and not polyphonic, also some people aren’t a fan of the delay because they say it’s noisy. I don’t think PO is going to have anything to make up the gap though.
Volca Bass is monophonic probably has the best sound, unless you want something that sounds more acidy and nubass is better for that but imo doesn’t sound as good. I’ve never used volca drum but a lot of people say it’s the budget machinedrum so, that’s a pretty good compliment I guess.
Kegeratorz will be here to recommend PO32 sometime today also, so I’ll mention that in the meantime.
PO32 is great, only one I’ve used but recommend highly - sounds really nice and gritty and the performance effects are a lot of fun, really easy to make nice patterns
It’s worth getting the microtonic software as well, though basically doubling the price
I bought Microtonic years ago when it was first released. Always considered it special.
