Have an A4.

Now have an AK.

Sound very similar (for the record so far).

But prefer AK for my wants.

Such great synths.

Does anyone else think it is only a matter of time before Elektron start producing modular units?

They are already producing modular hardware units, and have done so for over a decade. For real, have you tried out the MnM and MDUW+ routing possibilities yet? It may not be 3U, but it’s modular in a box.

Remember, it’s the integration of the sequencer with modular software machines in hardware, which can connect to other pieces of hardware and software which is the source of their magic powers.

No need for them to join the 3U rat race, but if you do have a modular system (like I do), then the Elektron instruments are the life of the party.

I am well aware of Elektron unit functionality.

I was wondering and speculating. For instance, what if they made a unit that was more affordable, instead of catering to folks with money?

It all depends on Elektron’s vision of where it wants to go next, and Eurorack is very popular right now and affordable-ish.

I can’t wait for them to finish Overbridge and move on and make some new real things.

I think Elektron’s current product line has the most universal appeal to them. Anybody can feel welcomed to buy their products and use them however they like.

Modular, in comparison, is like a large niche market
