We do not offer any external joystick peripherals for the Monomachine, but a user here on the forums, Guga, makes really nice MIDI controllers for some of our instruments.
His SFX-JII might be right up your alley:

Several keyboard controllers exist that have joysticks that can be mapped to the MnM; one is the Korg MicroKONTROL … haven’t tried it myself but at least some users like the pairing.
I picked up a Korg Kontrol49 because I needed a MIDI keyboard and I guess I was curious about its joystick could be used with the Monomachine. I’ve yet to quite figure out a good setup, and I think that’s mainly because the Kontrol49’s joystick has no tension at all. From the reviews I was expecting the joystick to feel “cheap”, and so I’m not too surprised but… fun, though, to finally have a reason to change the Mono’s joystick settings.
Does anyone know where to grab a SFX-jII ?

Has anyone tried to map Korg microKEY 25 joystick?

I don’t have a microKEY 25.
The first thing to note is that the microKEY 25 does not have a MIDI port, so you would need to use a MIDI host device (for example, a computer) to connect it to the Monomachine.
Once that’s done, the default mapping on the microKEY’s joystick exactly matches the MIDI messages that the Monomachine responds to.
I`ve got Kenton usb-midi host.
I wonder why there are only CCs for Up and Down directions in the Monomachine midi map?

Where are the Left and Right directions which appear in the Assign menu?

Because the Joystick Left and Right actions respond to MIDI Pitch Bend messages (which are not CC messages), as described on the same page of the manual as that screenshot you posted (and shown in the screenshot!).
They are on the tab that you showed in that screenshot from the manual!
There you can assign incoming MIDI Pitch Bend messages to affect two destinations in the MM’s sound engine. If you set MIRR (mirror) to “ON” then both directions of pitchbend have the same effect.
Was any body successful to hookup an external joystick to the SFX-60?
Only Midi-2-USB and Midi CV. Was looking for a 5 pin MIDI connection.

I’ve built a proof-of-concept MIDI joystick controller that already performs all the core functions for my MnM:
Pitch Bend on the X-axis
Control Change (CC#1 up / CC#2 down) on the Y-axis
MIDI channel setup via a single button, with EEPROM saving
Axis swapping with five quick button presses
LED feedback for every action
Midi In and Thru DIN-5
Plus: smooth input averaging, deadzone filtering, and non-blocking timing at 100 Hz
And now I’m testing it with my Monomachine!
WOW, I never owned a Monomachine, but damn do I wish for this kind of assigning flexibility in ANY of Elektrons latest instruments. I understood the bittersweet attitudes towards how people wish Elektron should go back to their roots, but boi I get it now.

There are only a few resistors and capacitors with a optoisolator. And arduino micro of cause.
At now I’m testing joystick with Hall effect for for better sensitivity.
The circuit works fine with my MNM. I’m waiting for a few components to pack everything into the designed enclosure.
Once I’m done, I’ll post a DIY project as a tribute to this magnificent tool. If you’re interested, you can add a PCB to the project.

So, I’ve assembled a prototype in a case, and it works great with my MnM. Now I’m using a more precise Hall-effect stick (instead of a resistive one). I’ve also fixed some errors in the code. All that’s left is to create the final circuit and PCB board for those who want to build it.

Not being handy myself, I’d be curious about a prebuilt one! Form factor wise it looks like it’d go really nice in a mini pedal enclosure like this.
