I‘m super excited to share a new album of mine with you. ‘Because’ is out now on Seil Records. It is an album about finding beauty in broken sounds and romanticizing distortion. “A tale of us, following out hearts.”
I release quite a bit of music and try to give each album its own identity. This one came together through my new found love for diode clipping. As a whole, the tracks are warm and gentle, but if you zoom in and focus on single sounds, you might notice a lot of screamy, noisy parts full of rough edges. Of course I‘m biased, but I’m incredibly happy with how it turned out.
‘Because’ is available in a blue cassette edition with golden printing - and digitally. As usual, downloads are free (name your price) for the first two weeks.
Gear wise the album’s main setup was an Onde Magnétique OM-1, Herbs and Stones Solid Felt, Chase Bliss Mood MK2 & Habit, Digitone and Cocoquantus.
Some help from the modular system (usually for bass) and some eKalimba here and there. OTO Bim & Bam as fx sends. Recorded with 1/4" tape.
