It’s definitely a bit messy, but I like this one, especially at the 50 second mark. Noise for sure.

this isn’t overdone at all; it’s just well textured! There is a unified warble to the whole piece that sounds really nice, and I like how the beat provides a sense of propulsion. There are even sounds in the second half that are evocative of the SP’s DJ Looper effect
I love how dense this piece is! There’s a whole ecosystem of sounds living in the cracks of the noise, and they keep poking their heads out to see what’s going on. It’s like flying over an alien world
Side note: the new Absynth is so good at making crazy sounds quickly that I find the 30min limit on the demo is more of a creative limitation than a turn off
love that bass sound! Almost sounds like a slap bass. Crazy that this is just SY Bits! There’s a great mix of digital and woody sounds in the percussion, and I love the use of detune to make the chords
love those squelchy bubble sounds at the beginning! The kick is a bit buried in this mix, but there are plenty of interesting higher frequency textures going on! You could absolutely resample this piece and use it as a noise block to carve into something else
very industrial! Sounds like the kinds of things my partner records in her lab. Lots of large, heavy machinery whirring away at high speeds. Massive, building size tools machining the most precise little details
love that vowely lead sound! Sounds like an alien rapping over the top of the beat. The bass kick is super gnarly too!
I love those zany percs at the beginning! And the melody has this nice tenseness to it. It sounds like a dope chase scene in an adult swim cartoon
nice! Kind of an acid sound going on with the bass, and those high pinging rhythms contrast with the one bar loop feel perfectly! Love those scream sounds you introduced as a lead as well
I love the groany bass in this! And the whole piece has this really nice light energy to it that just skips along over the bass. I particularly enjoyed that little guitar solo at the end. I’ve enjoyed everything you’ve posted!
beautiful! I’m unfamiliar with the song you are covering, but I love what you’ve made! Those noisy textures at the beginning are wonderful, and the piano in this piece does a gorgeous job leading everything
it’s like Kraftwerk meets Boards of Canada! I like the driving momentum of the beat, and the moments when you cut it for just a bit help build more of the story of the piece. The tense synth pads are brooding and atmospheric
love the whirlwind energy this has! Like being in the eye of the storm. Calm and collected as chaos spins out around you
lovely bell tones! And the hi hat has this interesting resonance to it that fits well with the bells. I like how the drums feel like they’re in the driver’s seat for this piece too
the impact sound you have at the beginning of each bar is sick! Sounds like some kind of resonant explosion. And I love all the effects you add to the resonant tails to give them more life
lovely sounds! I love how the loops continue to grow in this piece. It sounds like waves hitting the rocks at the bottom of the cliff, as the wind picks up. Howling past. Kicking up spray from the ocean impossibly far below
everything is buzzing and full of energy! This piece captures the feeling of being in a smaller club where the kick is so huge it rattles the pipes and fittings in the walls, and the whole building becomes an instrument
very pretty sounds! I like that, despite the persistence of the loops continue in the background, the whole piece doesn’t feel like it’s about looping. There’s a good sense of dynamics
I love this use of granular synthesis on a full piece! Lots of textures reminiscent of Ableton’s texture warp mode, but with so much more stereo depth. Sometimes it even sounds like you’re modulating the shape of the grains themselves
I could see this piece being used for a kind of psychological horror game a la SOMA! Very discordant, and the rhythms are baffling and unpredictable
there’s an excellent physical modeling quality to these sounds! Like your plucking strings of alien fabric with laser plectrums, or hitting cosmic xylophones with small metal mallets
congrats on building a synth! I think you’re absolutely right about hardware bringing in something special to the sound exploration process, and I think you demonstrated that rather aptly with your jam. It may have been a simple waveform with a simple tune knob, but you managed to give it life with your performance

I think the sounds you chose work wonderfully together! I like how you introduce more voices throughout the piece to keep create a bit of a build up. It can be difficult to make a short and compelling piece of generative music (I have been trying to figure this out for years now…), and I think this piece simply needs time. It would make for a lovely bit of background music to accompany your day
I love the swelling pads in this piece! They add so much emotional depth to an already incredibly compelling piece. The effects are viscerally present, but not overpowering at all, like the reverb is this massive thing being held at bay by the soothing melody

one of life’s little jokes is always making sure the best bits are kept to yourself! I really enjoyed how this piece evolved. You managed to explore so many different timbres and textures, from the mellow and delay focused, to the noisy and percussive. This would be a lovely accompaniment to another performer as well
great drum programming! I wish the snares were just a touch louder in the mix, but that’s just a personal thing! The medley to this piece is really playful too, and I like that ice pick sound that it has

love the melody in this piece! It feels like daybreak. Like you’ve been up all night, and you can just start to see the pink light of dawn streaking across the sky
this piece starts out feeling like we’re entering a supervillain’s lair, but then the villain has some sort of change of heart, and sees the error of their ways
I love how that dusty beat gets called into existence by the yearning melody! And that little hesitation in the beat around halfway through the piece is fantastic
nice transitions between each piece! You kept the energy up the whole time, and blended between sounds wonderfully! Seems like you really know your way around your setup; there were some great moments where it seems like you’re about to lose control, but then you bring everything back together perfectly. I loved all those bloopy loops you conjured up
great breaks! Love how glitched up everything gets around the 1m30s mark, and how the piece turns into like a Krell patch for a second. The sounds from the MD are crazy!

EHere’s my track for January 14 I wanted to post it yesterday but it got too late so I had to go to bed
this time, I decided to limit myself to only five tracks because often times I find it hard to find/decide the right preset so a lot of the times I take hours to browse presets and of course the more tracks I use the longer it takes
So this is more of a simple jam, but tried out some new things out with automation and effects
As always, all was created with the deluge with some post protection editing on the iPad
