Wanted to get this thread started before the first, so we all have a home to post on day one.
If anyone knows of any Jamuary resources to check out, such as dedicated sites, feel free to share.
Looking forward to what everyone posts in 2025!

im hyped! i think this is my third jamuary in a row. i always have a great time, excited to see whar comes from this month!
Dang 2024 flew fast! Stoked for 2025, January starts busy so I will chime in randomly still aiming to get in all the reps š©¶
So much travel coming up Im not sure if I can do it. Is it socially acceptable to do it mod 3 or mod 7?
Jamuary this year was a real learning experience for me, because I received my Digitakt in December and used it as an opportunity to use it on a daily basis to the point where it is now second nature. I also ended up getting almost a full EP out of it which I still enjoy listening to now.
Will be fun to do it again, although I expect to move my setup in January and my health is awful at the minute so I imagine my participation will somewhat spotty.
JAMuary 2024 was all about the Novation Circuits for me. Which really was great fun, but Iām still recording the output from them into Ableton now! A year later! Itās a pretty boring and laborious process to get to a finished track, so I have to admit, I have been putting it off.
JAMuary 2025 will be all about Ableton Move Iād say. So maybe not quite as much fund DAWless jamming, but if I then want to move onto finishing the track. At least the next stage will be pain free.
That reminds me as well. I need to be ruthless and remove the sets I feel can be moved up the chain from Move, or sets that wonāt make the cut. Due to the more limited number of sets that can be kept on Move.
Iād say the spirit is what the event is all about
Iām in again of course. Probably will be a very MPE heavy month, or maybe Iāll break out the Key 37 on its own. Not entirely sure yet
Is Jamuary:
Iām keen to try. Last year i did the alphabet superset - one piece a week for 26 weeks using the alphabet to generate prompts for ideasā¦ one a day seems a lot more intense but Iām interested to try
Iāve not done it before, but Iām gearing up for ā25. Stoked!
I say make it what you want. Iām not going to be able to manage a jam a day, but Iām not letting that put me off.
I personally just think itās making anything music wise, each day. It could be creating a beat, a loop, messing with some samples, recording some vocal ideas or writing a whole track. I normally aim to pencil in about 10 minutes a day in January. But some days itāll shorter, some days much longer.
Is Jamuary for some kind of benefit or just the equivalent of āgetting back to the gymā for electronic musicians? I just started getting into synths/electronic music this year so this will be my first year of it. Looking forward to hearing what yāall come up with.
Itās completely a self-benefit type thing that can be like āgetting back to the gym?ā
This will by my 3rd year? I like the challenge as a way to fine tune workflows, or spot problem areas, plus I find it a nice creative push to start the year.
The community is incredibly supportive here and itās been great seeing what everyone comes up with.
Each time Iāve participated, it has helped me better see what I wanted, which is easy access to what I have while minimizing/eliminating gear and software that might get in the way.
Oh right on. Thanks for clarifying that for me.
Iāll have more free time in January than Iāve had recently, and music will make a nice distraction from job hunting. So Iām in for Jamuary! Thisāll be my thrd one. I skipped 2024, and in fact am still taking my sweet time fleshing out the sketches from Jamuary 2023. But a recent music lull has left me rusty and keen to do something new. I think Iāll make a mini setup out of Syntakt & Octatrack and see where that takes me.
Happy jamminā folks!
Iāll probably mostly focus on handpan jams. Mainly to learn to play better. Had it for a month now, but practice was limited due to a broken thumb (BJJ)
Never done anything like it before, but Iām keen to give it a try will have to see if I can make it through 31 days without missing oneā¦
Jan 04 EDIT: Recording every day was a wildly unrealistic goal for me I will try to make a few good jams this month, but Iāve been going through an extended period of low music motivation and deadlines donāt do much to change thatā¦
looking forward to upgrading my processor because it canā t even handle the DAW, itās going to take a while before i can get my hands on some gear
