In my ranking of Elektron boxes, Digitone II is on first place (best of the best), OG Digitone on place 11 (second worst).

Messing about with some 3/3 timing (or something like that! has 9 steps on a single page), quite limiting seq-wise, so can be fun to fill the gaps with trig conditions and ctrl-all stuff…

Fun fact, Pops Guiro is a pulse-like wave (and only sounds right if the pitch fluctuates slightly), 78 Guiro is amplitude modulated filtered noise [at a specific pitch/rate, specific shape etc.]. Strong differences between seemingly sameish sounds (be it a Conga) throughout these machines …

Totally agree the DN2 is the GOAT UI-wise. Didn’t get the sounds I wanted out of it initially, so it has been on a shelf for a few months. But I have been trying to minimize to the extreme, and thought Tonverk + one more piece of kit could suffice, since the Tonverk can do so much.
Then i dragged the DN off the shelf, just for sake of the experiment. And suddenly I had this mindblowing aha-moment as I noticed I was gravitating more and more away from the Tonverk and towards the DN. I re-programmed the parts I had on the Tonverk, onto the DN. Now I’m suddenly wondering if I can get by with only the DN2. Go figure!
Something clicked - and as many here are saying, there just doesn’t seem to be much that can’t be done on the DN2. As a mobile setup I’m thinking the DN2 is more capable than the Tonverk in a lot of ways (16 tracks, more synth options, easier/more logical to program). Is it just my ADHD tricking me?

You really need a DN2 plus (at least) some sort of sampler to make that claim.
