I don’t think you were imagining it. As for the Rytm, mk1 and mk2 sound pretty much identical instead

Whenever I upload anything more than a quick example, I use an AAC or MP3 to get under the size limit.
As you mention, you can also link to a SoundCloud file or something. To get links to embed, they usually have to be all alone on a line with no spaces before or after.
The nice part about uploading over linking is that those files are then stored on the forum. So if later you move or delete your SoundCloud account, the songs that were a part of the conversation don’t suddenly disappear. But ultimately personal preference. I see a lot of both around here.

There’s certainly somewhat of a difference. The A4 Mk2’s filter overdrive charecteristic has two flavors versus one of the Mk1, and sounds made on the Mk1 will have the filter settings default to the new flavor played back in the Mk2. If you turn the encoder from positive to negative overdrive values it goes back to being similar to the Mk1 sounds, but I don’t think it’s identical. There may be other small differences as well.
The Analog Keys is indeed a Mk1 with slightly tweaked bass response, which is probably also filter-related.

Like, when I think of A4, I think of being patient and focused, meticulously tweaking 10 knobs across many pages, it’s very deep as the thread title suggests. But now you’ll be able to just hold a button and wiggle away and enjoy whatever happens. Hot damn.

save trig to sound was defo top of my list. such an amazing thing to have on the A4. ctrl-all was a pipedream for me, never really thought it would be added. I can’t believe it

Ok so I’ve only used the Euclidean for drums on other elektrons and in the video i see the guy generating a multi note melodic sequence seemingly without note modifying any of the trigs. Can anybody explain how to do this?
You create an Euclidean sequence with x amount of pulses, p-lock the pitches. Then reduce the amount of pulses. Turn the camera on and increase the amount of pulses again and pretend you’re a magician 
In other words, the sequencer remembers your p-locked steps even if you temporarily reduce the amount of pulses. This works on all other Euclidean enabled Elektrons as well
