Just watched a Behringer MonoPoly video, I used to own the Korg OG, and I forgot about the way the ARP can play each voice after another which creates really interesting sequences when each OSC is different in tune or volume etc.
Sure, check the “use track sound” box.
It’s real fun, but you’ll be interested in setting some perf macros cause juggling from one track to another is not as fun as on the Perfourmer.
It does work but a little weird too, especially with the AK and the way it seems to select the tracks while playing. And thanks for mentioning the Perfourmer. Really cool synth.
You have several way to selct tracks: rotate, reset, etc. Try them all until you come up with what you are looking for !
You can also limit the Poly config to have only 2 or 3 tracks playing your arp.
Ok, that’s it. Watched several A4 MkII bass demos and such, knew I shouldn’t have done that. In two months we’ll get a ‘extra month’ payout (an exception in itself), guess where part of that is going…
Thx. T1 has some basic Sounds on a 16-Step Pattern, some short, some a bit longer. Track Level is at 0. T2 has Osc2 switched to NEI and is on a 10-Step Pattern with some Trigs shifted by a 32nd Note. Track Level is also at 0. T3 also has Osc2 switched to NEI and has a 16-Step Pattern with all of the Steps activated except those that fall on the Kick. All of them make use of various kinds of Filters and often use a little Bit of Filter-Feedback on Osc1.
T4 has the Kick as Track Sound an the Hats as Sound Locks so I can independently turn down the Kicks via Amp Volume.
In the Performance I started with all Tracks muted except T3 which has some Trigs muted then activate T2 and then T1. Peak Filter tweaking on T2 after that. Then Hats and finally Kicks. Reactivate Trig Mutes on T3. More T2 Filter Tweaking. At the end I mute T4 and turn up EnvF Attack on T3.
Now that I’m on Linux I’ve been eyeing Bitwig and its Grid. It’s a lot of money and I already have lots of cool gear so I tried doing some weird stuff on my A4 to fight GAS
Thanks a lot for the kind words, man! I was particularly happy with the kick on this one. As good as the A4 sounds when you find the right sweet spots, kicks have always been difficult for me
Kits are saved within a project, and you can back up projects using Transfer. On the machine itself you can copy kits from one project to another, but as far as I know there’s no way to back up kits separate from a project.
Wow, that IS good…I heard mentions of the A4 not being really strong low down, but I had this on headphones, and that thump almost felt like it compressed my brain.
