Hi.
I’ve got a Warm Audio WA76 compressor that I bought second hand. I noticed that the cable for the power supply has a slight defect. Is this an issue? I have used the power supply without any issues before I noticed this. As far as I can see the threads in the cable are not cut or broken. It looks like they are only exposed.
I have reached out to Warm Audio that it took 4 months for to come to the conclusion that they can’t help me with getting a new power supply.
So My thought is to put a shrinking tube to cover what’s exposed and use the power supply.
If there is no internal shielding, which could cause a short-circuit do as @Tajnost suggests. But from a customers pov I would say, yes it’s an issue …
Looks like a 2 separate insulated wires. One side damaged and one side not? No problem as long as the wires aint cut. You can use a shrink hose as suggested or isolation tape to prevent short circuit for if that bare copper wire get’s exposed touches housing of equipment.
Wire looks long enough to repair and replace with a new dc barrel to solder yourself. Just take notice of the polarity if it’s DC current. If the powersupply is AC current on the secondary side it doesn’t matter.
