Hi people! I tried to access some info on elektron-users.com today, but the site is completely down and giving me a 504 Gateway Timeout error. I did a quick search here and I couldn’t find any info or announcements suggesting that the site is now permanently offline and no longer maintained for archival purposes. Admittedly I didn’t dig too deep into the search results but I noticed a post by someone mentioning accessing files on elektron-users 27 days ago, so I assume it was working fine then. Does anyone know if it’s gone for good? If not, are there any Elektron employees around who might be able to look into this issue sometime?
There’s still a ton of info / files stored there which I believe never made the jump to Elektronauts. Any info or a resolution would be much appreciated. Ty
Thanks, yes I already tried that but I don’t think it’s fully indexed and no download files are available either Not only that, browsing / searching sites with WBM is hellish.
I actually gave this old nugget a listen just a week or so ago. Still awesome. Good to see you’re still in the thick of it here. Once an Elektron user, always an Elektron user (notwithstanding some wobbles along the way )
Pretty sure I went there digging in the crates maybe about a month ago (maybe two). I hope the archive isn’t gone for good. It’s a very good resource for talk about the original trio of boxes.
WBM says the site was last crawled on 16th Sept 2025, so hopefully just a matter of troubleshooting the issue. Would be nice if Elektron could get it working again (I think they took that domain/site over after some years, if I recall correctly). Here’s hoping🤞🏼
Worth it though, still gets listened to 14 years after release, so the work wasn’t in vain . I wish it were a 2 hour set though, and not 30 min (though you surely don’t!)
That post popped up when I searched elektron-users earlier, I spotted it but don’t have time to go through it yet, I did make a mental note to do so when I’m not so distracted though . Thanks for posting it here actually, makes life a little easier on my old brain trying to remember.
If I were to summarise a response to that post, I’ve already said it above; elektron-users was the elektron university imo. and to expand on that a little further…engaging with the community there was just a vastly different experience to that of any other forum I’d used, then, now and likely forevermore tbh. I’ll try to quantify it better in your post when I can
