come on guys, if you havent got a yamaha cs80, roland jupiter 8, and an ems synthi in your studio you should just give up on music

cool edit was pretty simple and good but i cant be bothered multitracking stuff in a daw any more, my drums turn out to not be in sync with the music and it always sounds wrong and shitty to my ears when i use it. ive tried logic and ableton and not enjoyed either. im not aphex so i dont really care about experimenting with new sounds. i like making acid tracks with my analogue setup and enjoy it as a hobby. making 10 quid a year on bandcamp is just a bonus.
if you use a laptop and do lots of FM synthesis and physical modelling you could probably do something new sounding. but then everyone would copy the sound and what is novel in music quickly becomes stale?
drukqs, come to daddy, windowlicker, rdj album, mr aphex got in so quickly and with so much talent in that area of computer music, and i dont want to even attempt to compete with him.

does anybody here use a pc or mac for midi sequencing? i thought the midi timing was supposed to be shit because of the way personal computers are designed. atari st has a reputation for tight timing which is unjustified, way out of time. elektron analog four has brilliant timing.
btw how do you even write a hashtag on a macbook air?

I write a lot of midi lines and chords in Ableton or BitWig then export into my BlackBox or Force.

I create all my music solely in a DAW but then switch it off at the recording stage, for I am truly #DAWless

My friend purchased a macbook air and a ableton live11 licence, he left it on the passenger seat of his car whilst dropping his nan off at the tattoo parlour, when he got back to his car the window had been smashed and his macbook stolen, so now he’s #DAWless too.
