iPad Controllers (like MPC Fly)

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there were any case/drum controller hybrids like the MPC Fly available for the iPad Air 2?

And if that’s just pushing it, then what are the options for iPad drum controllers, besides the iRig one? Does the Roli one work with all apps?

I’ve had my eye on a seaboard block for a while, they do work with any iOS midi app (but you might not get all the MPE features)

Not a case, but Korg Nanokey Studio is nice, especially if you use Gadget.

MPD218 works if you have CCK

CCK an app for MIDI?

thats good! I mean I only want something for triggering, not so much for controlling params. so I think that should suffice. Velocity sensitive?

Camera connection kit, basically adds a USB port to your iPad

Camera Connection Kit is that USB adapter you can use to plug in class compliant USB devices into an iOS device. Works flawlessly provided you use an official Apple built one.

Never had an MPC fly clamshell, but I had an MPC elements controller… It was quite crap tbh and exhibited many kinds of issues with tye pads. Wouldn’t really recommend one tbh. The MPD series padcontrollers are much better.

figured id kill 2 birds with one stone, and rock it as a case, but I want a QUNeo bad, so I may just do that with the connection kit.

if you had to choose, QUneo 3D pad or a CME XKey Air? Help me out folks. Im an MPC head but I also love me some pitch bend etc. not to mention portability.

Digitakt plus CCK.

im trying to make something ultra thin and portable. as much as i love my DT, its already a bit much in weight and size.

Cannot recommend either as I haven’t personally used them. I have read that many people like their QuNeo padcontrollers though, and IIRC you can even get a wireless version… so even though CME is strictly a controller manufacturer, I’d maybe lean more towards QuNeo myself…

I remember having a CME keyboard controller once… it worked ok but wasn’t anything special tbh. Also unsure about CME’s commitment towards maintaining support for their products etc…
