I already have an iConnectivity interface for my MacBook desk setup but wondered about getting a smaller interface for my iPad that can be more mobile but provide a couple of audio ins and outs and midi (usb is fine). I hate those camera kit adapters so I wondered if there’s something that works without one. Or if not what’s your recommend for an interface that can do both audio and midi or am I looking at iPad to usb bus to audio interface style of setup?
I think there are a few iRig options that might do what you need. The iRig Pro, perhaps. Alternatively something that uses a USB-C connection (like a MOTU M2) might work with a USB-C - Lightning cable, but I don’t know if it would offer enough power to fuel the M2 without excessively draining the iOS device
The CCK is really, to my knowledge, only to convert usb to lightning and provide power. If you have the proper cable or adaptors, anything should, theoretically, work.
