Ipad apps for Elektron gear

Hi!

Which ipad apps can I use to control Elektron machines (for example a4 mk2 & digitone)? I heard the actual OS upgrades added USB and Midi compliance, but how can I use it and how is it set up? Thanks!

One of our fellow 'Nauts @mekohler has the following:

Fragments for the A4

Harmonix for the Digitone

Both of these do random patch generation and a plethora of other things. They work more as editors than real-time modulators.

Apart form these, check out the iPad apps thread for a myriad options regarding apps that can modulate via MIDI.

Edit:

As far as using either device as a class compliant MIDI/audio interface, you need to go into the Global Settings => System => USB Config and set it to USB AUDIO/MIDI. Then, you can use the USB port on the Elektron device to connect directly into an iPad/iPhone (or a camera connection kit for lightning based devices, preferrably with a power delivery port). Then the Elektron device’s MIDI ports will show up in your host (AUM, Beatmaker 3, Audiobus 3, Cubasis etc.) and audio will be routed through the Elektron device.

Hope this clarifies things a bit!
