iOS app to control levels of all 16 DT2 tracks?

Is there an iOS app with virtual faders that can control all 16 DT2 tracks levels?

Can LK do this?

Are there better options?

Maybe Touchosc will fit your requirements.

AUM?

Loopy Pro seems to be really good at customizable control surfaces (caveat: I have not purchased it yet, just watched demos).

I have made a very extensive controller for the octatrack and my 404 on loopy. It’s very much capable. Took me a long time but my controller is crazy. Just controlling track levels would be fairly quick and easy

  • I think LK is mostly set up for 8 controls rather than 16.

  • While AUM is great for audio mixing and handling MIDI routing, I don’t think it can be used to control the track volume via MIDI like that.

  • TouchOSC seems like it lets you get very in-depth with scripting if you want to create a control surface that is laid out more like a custom app, but I haven’t used it before.

I do find it very easy to create/configure control surfaces in Loopy Pro though - and that app does it all really, since it’s also an amazing looper/sampler and AUv3 host all in one.

Loopy Pro also supports high-resolution CC/NRPN controls, which are not present in a lot of other apps - or even hardware controllers (like my Novation LaunchPad Pro mk3/LaunchControl XL).

I don’t think that applies to Track Level on Elektron devices, but it means you have smooth 14-bit control (0-16384) rather than steppy 7-bit control (0-127) for parameters where that matters; e.g. filter cutoff.

The only challenging part is that Loopy Pro doesn’t have a ‘friendly’ interface for entering HRCC/NRPN values; but it’s not too bad once you’ve got that figured out.

There was a bunch of controllers made using TouchOSC and Lemur for the original Digitakt.
One could easily be made just to control the levels. Maybe someone is already building one or has built a feature-packed one for the Digitakt2?

Some links to old Digitakt 1 apps…
