"Invalid State" error when i try to format a new 64GB Card

Hi, bought a used MKII, now this is the first thing i wanted to do, format a new card, i recieve an invalid state" error.
The CF card seems ok on my computer.
any suggestions?

Compact Flash - Latest and Greatest

Looking into getting some new cards for my Octatrack, mine have had a, shall we say unfortuante life, and submitted to lots of abuse. So what is the biggest / best card to get? Whats the best recommended? I searched, but this forum is shit. So, yeah.

I’ve had thumb drives that were permanently read-only on some computers but not others, right out of the packaging (it was a known defect with certain Sandisk thumbdrives a few years ago), and once or twice I’ve had SD cards get stuck as read-only until I formatted them with the official SD Association formatting application (the OS couldn’t format them). I don’t know if that’s something that also happens with CF cards but it’s another possibility.
