Is it not? I thought it was a little shop with a big warehouse ala Music Matter, another recently liquadated relatively small-ish player.
According to online sources their sales exceeded $70m last year and they also own several hardware companies (guitar related).
Itās kind of by the by but I wouldnāt compare them in any way to Rubadub.

I would loved to have kept it as it sounds great but with what i experienced and others have reported it was best for me to box it up and not use it i even waited to return it hoping a firmware update would be released but it never came and i was running out of time to return it

In fact if i knew it was going to cost me Ā£120 plus P&P for the 10 min i used it i would have used it 24/7 for 14 days and got my moneys worth out of it
But no i thought put it back in the box as new and be honest about it but sometimes it doesnt pay to be honest and play them at there own game

One thing that seems to be apparent is that beta testers are not very good at beta testing. Not just Elektron, mind.

a company cannot legally charge you a restocking fee for a faulty return under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 because the product was not fit for purpose, as described, or of satisfactory quality. You are entitled to a full refund, as well as any return postage costs if the item was purchased online or by mail. You can report the company to Trading Standards or Which? for advice on how to proceed with your complaint

I wouldnāt be too quick to blame testers, people have to listen to them, from what Iāve been told , quite often things get repeatedly reported , however no action is taken. Iām not talking specifically with Elektron, but pointing the finger isnāt really going to get us anywhere.
The buck stops way up the chain imo.

How do we know? Maybe they just didnāt have time to fix the bugs before launch.

I am sorry to hear that, this is why I never buy from these small shopsā¦they do not have enough power and cash to deal with quick returnsā¦as they would need to deal your return with Elektron but they probably order small quantities and do not have enough bandwidth to negotiate

Yeah butā¦ then it shouldnāt have been launched mate. People are paying top money for this gear and end up being public beta testers. Not good mate

Iād see if āThe complaining cowā can help, she is an ace consumer rights champion, journalist and consultant.
I always really worry about sending things back as it seems unfair, especially for smaller retailers, but really for all. Iāve done it, but fairly infrequently when things were wildly not to my taste. Thereās no way to police that kind of threshold, and people get indignant on both sides of whether ever is reasonable here.
This! Maybe Elektronās time is slowly becoming over ā¦ what a pity and shame!

Iām with you on this, itās two different things. Beta testers donāt have any power on this when it comes to releasing a product. Iām sure many bugs/features have been ignored before launch.

Maybe the early adopters encountering the bugs right now and paying top dollar should be given some sort of attractive discount? All they wanna do is buy their machine and start making music instead of being public beta testers. I used to test Waldorf synths i.e Blofeld, Pulse 2, Quantum etc and our small group used to go through everything possible and go over it again and again until we were sure the synths were at least 90% useable from the off! Elektron has definitely changed over the years but I love their products so I stick around.
