Is this really how it is? No func+yes equivalent here?
At first blush, having one level of undo is not a great substitute.

Saving the current project via Func + Yes is possible.
Nope.
As for UNDO, well, itās not even working at the moment.
Or like on the Microfreak adapt mutable osc and collab with other brand like Noise Engineering to make crazy osc
Can you please explain this a bit more? Does it mean that TV saves changes thst I make to a pattern to the project without me telling it to do so and without me knowing when and that it will actually do that?
If so, that would also be a clear dealbreaker for me. I hate how Microsoft Office nowadays forces you to autosave and always thought of the deliberate saving to temporary or permanent states on Elektrons as the best way to implement such a saving feature.
Not sure, and I just left home, but every time I pressed Undo, there was no effect. There might be situations where it works, but I never encountered one.
this means just you cannot undo a change with an undo command.
limitations are what breed creativity
Work day is almost over, time to get busy!
Taking out the TV from its box, the included card is a Micro-SD in an adapter? That one is getting replaced immediately by a full sized SD card. Iāve had bad experiences with micro-SD cards and adapters on the M+, its one more redundant point of failure nobody needs in a musical instrumentā¦
(Yes, I am aware Elektron saved a bit of coin by going with micro-SD, just like NI)
Yeah, true but then imagine the octatrack having only one pair of ins, it really cuts on that creativity too, with 2 pairs of ins I used to get 2 friends to connect their ableton to the OT and we had a blast with me mangling everything.
I hope they add the usb ins but sounds like cope to me.
Tonverk is pizza.
Power up and full load of factory project took minutes⦠Longer than my Maschine+ boot.
Listening to the factory patterns, I am not immediately wowed by the sound quality of this device. Sounds on par with M+ etc, quite linear and ādryā, perhaps even a slightly scooped, lowmid shy representation⦠Seems to take EQ well, so you can certainly āfix it in the mixā⦠Dynamic range feels good (feels like you can get a good front-to-back balance going), but other than that, I am not saying there is anything special about the sonics of this box. But of course, I will need to use my own samples before I can really tell how it sounds, as I have no way to know how the factory content was made and whether those sonics were very deliberate by the sound designersā¦
Anyone can tell me how to switch BANKs with this thing? I cant find a bank button⦠thanks
Found the Granulator on pattn 6. Fun lil spoilerā¦
@jm2c You can switch banks via the subtrack buttonsā¦
Is it the device or the samples?
oh donāt get me wrong, i was trying to be zen to keep appearances ![]()
4 inputs would have opened it to a different level entirely, and start touching the OT
you have to admit if it had 4 inputs, you would always been torn to use it as a mixer or a sound generator
i kind of like they out their foot down and are just telling us its a sound generator with lots of mixer DNA
its just going to be its own thing though, so i am trying to just embrace what exists and think about what that limitation would make me do
FTFY ![]()
It was my first reaction when I first saw the unitā¦
3 stereo outs is cool though.
Honestly, without OB (and OB not being able to handle Fx) but so much happening, itās very important it has as many outputs as possible. Iād prefer them to use TRS outputs and inputs like on AR and A4 voices so they can put double the amount of in and out into it. Missed chance that likely will hurt all upcoming new devices in this format.
Haha sooo good. With the Hapax the Tonverk becomes actually a pretty good machine.
If you own an Hapax (or an Oxi). Forget about entering notes in the Tonverk. Send notes from Sequencer. Press [FUNC] & [SEQUENCE LANE] on the Tonverk and choose option [P-LOCKS]. Now you can lock all parameters you like and it sounds exactely the same as if youād enter the notes on the Tonverk. For me this is THE solution to have a very great combo.
Do not forget to set the midi settings on the Tonverk to receive transport and clock and to send it to the right port from the sequencer.
Little tipp for the subtracks. The subtracks start at note 60. (60, 62, 64, 65, 67, 69, 71, 72).
Have fun guys!
PS: I will create instruments definition for different track types. > see Hapax forum a little later this dayā¦
I know⦠this will degrade the Tonverk to some kind of expensive, Swedish Polyend Mess but who caresā¦
Donāt own one but I listened to the factory patterns on the website and they sound very good to my ears
