Hi!
A couple of years ago I posted about Artcore and got a bunch of really useful comments from this community- thank you again for that.
As a producer, one think I’ve always struggled with is completing tracks and staying focused. Sitting down with 90 minutes, a pile of unfinished projects, notes in three places, and no bounce of how that last version actually sounded. Then half the session goes to deciding what to do next.
You can set up track projects from simple templates (idea → variation → arrange → adjust → mix). The steps in the projects get spread across your available studio time, so when you sit down for the session your next step is clear. You bounce the unfinished thing and a listen-back turns into notes for the next session.
Curious how you do it? Do you bounce unfinished tracks, do you track journal your next steps? How do you decide what to open when you sit down?
I’m looking for a few early beta users. Reply or DM if interested.
Thanks for asking. Yes true, the project file is all there when you reopen the DAW.
The bounce serves a few different purposes:
For listening somewhere else (phone, car, another room) so you can hear with fresh ears at a different time and different environment.
If you’ve got a bunch of nearly finished tracks and you’re deciding which one to finish, it’s quicker to play through the bounces than open all the projects.
For hearing how the last version sounded after you’ve progressed the track so you can compare.
If you’re unfortunate to lose access to a plugin or sample in the project, you can hear how it last sounded if you want to replicate it
Also, the app lets you record voice notes about the track and those can be linked to that bounce for reference.
I’m also planning some community features where it would be useful to have bounces uploaded.
