I was never promised a certain resale value when I bought my Digitone. If you have an expectation of a guaranteed minimum resale value, I think that’s on you.
Can’t wait to hear what you create with it.
obviously, but it is playable in a far more flexible way, unlike machines on Syntakt e.g. because there’s more individual control available to present the whole voice
That’s what I loved about it. Limitations for expanding creative consciousness. And the fact that it had (has, sorry) dynamic polyphonic voice distribution and easy transpose.
Would love to have that on the ST, sigh.
I’ve dreamt a time ago with those machines on my digitone… but as an update for a digitone og. It’s a pitty they come in a new product and now the og left on a side
I’m about to read the manual now, and my wife calls me a psychopath for my obsession about reading manuals (even of things that I don’t buy - but how can you know if you want to buy something without having read the manual first?).
Preordered mine as soon as I saw a video pop up on YouTube. It seems to have everything I was hoping for when I sold my original Digitone. Of course there is one big question that cannot be answered until I get it in my hands, how does it sound? I always througt the original had a nice, clean, focused sound that was hard to soften when mixed with other instruments. Still, I’m hopeful enough that I hit the buy button.
Wait… no chord mode? That’s the most powerful feature of DN.
Agreed, the Digitone 1 video had a playful sense of humor while the Digitone 2 video seems to take itself a bit too seriously.
My favorite Elektron marketing video is the Syntakt introduction though. I remember drooling over it and spending an entire evening watching it again and again and taking my buddy into why we needed it.
That was a masterpiece of marketing.
The Digitone 2 is the Elektron box for me though. It looks and sounds absolutely incredible. I’m seriously considering selling my Syntakt now. Didn’t think that day would ever come!
sorry, I did not make any of these tracks
Surely, an influence at least
Damn it’s already gone from the Elektron site. I wonder when it’ll be available from other retailers in the UK.
The Grand Piano preset. Wow. This significantly expands the sound palette compared to the Syntakt. I’m super intrigued!
First thing i did was CTRL+F “Parameter Slides”
Really? Toyota introduced the car we call Corolla in 1966. They’ve put out a new one every year since. Do you feel like they’ve been ripping off their entire customer base for about the past 58 years consecutive?
What kind of logic is this?
Since DN2 got PREP MUTES and Syntakt 1.30 did not get PREP MUTES that must mean ST2 is on its way with PREP MUTES. Sorry for being slightly off-topic.
This is perfect for me. If I want other sounds, I can connect my ipad for all those sounds plus Koala so now really dont need anything else.
Digitakt II pre-orders are now live, with units expected to ship later this week!
that would be the glass half full view
Syntakt is early life cycle and has work left to complete imho - i don’t see ST2 before ST is done, so don’t let yourself get distracted by that train of thought
