I hope so. It just really surprises me that if that is the case, more info/demos wouldn’t be available to showcase them with the big reveal.

Of course 8 voices at the same time with chromatic mode… but it’s not polyphonic like 3 notes chords on one voice

On IRC Simon said the buttons were hard plastic.
It’s a loving throwback to the legending found on the MD panel. And it also communicates that what we’re dealing with here is a drum machine. Bam! Two birds, one stone.

Looking at the hardware’s new form factor and it’s control layout, it almost seems like a ‘blank template’ for a lot of future products. Simpler products. Like the silver machines.

Drum computer: it’s a drum machine, featuring a nifty sequencer
Sampler: it can sample.

The Rytm has tons of analog components in it, lots of oscillators, 8 filters, 8 vca’s, and more. Those are what you are paying for, in a weird way it’s practically a bargain to get all that analog in one box…

So can this layer MD style digital drum synthesis with a sample per track like the RYTM? If so that’s well cool.
Also I’m assuming it can do single cycle waveform looping for synth tones?
Yeah, plain and simple, written like that.
Even if there is no synthesis (this point is quite unclear to me), this little beast brings Elektron sequencer with fils and trig conditions to external gear, which is cool 
Wonder what kind of insane tricks one could do with conditional sample trigs

Looks like the MIDI sequencer will do conditional trigs and other recent tricks. Very cool. Anyone have info about the machines (other than sampling)?

There would be no point calling it a drum computer and sampler if the drums were sample based as opposed to being synth based.
