@elektron Did i see correctly that there are now two midi cc screens available per midi track?! Nice with the midi learn function, a real time saver!

Is there also a ‘randomise’ option available for the chosen midi parameter values? (e.g. for editing/randomising external hardware instruments/vsts presets by any chance, like a FUNC YES)

And would it be possible to playback a midi track on the DT2 and at the same time record/sample the input? Resampling external gear/vsts.

Monitoring? For e.g. recording/sampling a guitar while the track plays in the background?

That would be amazing

Stoked about the new DT2! I figure i just have to load it up once with all my fav samples/old projects and then i can turn off my daw forever (when it comes down to the producing part)

Will there be an Elektron survival battery pack to take the DT2 along on journeys off-grid? Like with the MyVolts cable which needs a more powerfull battery pack to make it work.

Is the SONG mode also available on the DT2?

An option for auto-normalize : resampling can’t work properly without having to change levels. Would be also nice for transitions. Saving would be faster ! An option for GRID auto-zero- crossing snap : it can change wavetables tuning, change the groove of a loop with linear locks, create gaps… An option to quantize to pattern length, using same page. That’s awesome and very interesting. Can you say any more about how these two in combination with each other can create hard sync sounds? I don’t see how that is possible.
Seems like the DTII can be a crazy unique synth machine. Like, what happens if you take this same sound and increase loop length? Bonkers?

In non-technical terms, it’s a natural effect from overlapping the signal with the delayed version of itself (i.e. comb filtering). The end result is quite similar to what happens with hard sync, where the waveform restarts before the end of its natural cycle due to being synced by another oscillator, resulting in the output signal having almost like a second copy of the waveform mixed into it. Both methods are useful for modeling this classic guitar feedback-style sound.

Yes, the stretched samples can also be played chromatically via the keyboard.

I strongly suspect this is Ricky Tinez influence (thanks Ricky!) as by my calculations he averages a mention of 16 levels every 3rd or 4th video. Never had an MPC so I’m stoked to try it out!

There is no shortcut anymore. We moved the metronome parameters under the Tempo section now (you know, the button with a metronome icon on it ) so basically it’s now a matter of pressing that button and turning knob E to toggle it ON/OFF. We felt it was easy and fast enough to have it that way.

As an OT Mk II owner I think I’ll wait until the Mk III comes out as part of this new platform. I don’t think they’ll bridge the features gap between DT Mk II and OT as a result

Exactly, one USB cable is enough. You might need a small adaptor, if you don’t have a usb-b to usb-c cable though.

I can’t answer second question, as I don’t have any synths with 5-PIN midi anymore, but I guess it would work, as there are options to configure on which outputs midi information is sent on the DTII.
