Agree. Also depends on whether you’re slewing with log/exp or linear.
That said…

Parameter slides would be nice!
Internal power should be there for it?
Can’t imagine the new platform is limited
I would even take parameter slides if it was limited to one channel or something like that.
YES TO THIS!
Yes, I think it would be great, even if it was limited in some way due to resource constraints or the like.
Sure, some of it can be done using LFO fades with one shot modes, but then you’re eating into your modulators. I also like per-step accuracy of a slide without having to spend a lot of time dialing in the fade and LFO rates.
I’m not sure about the Digitakt I for this, as it was already fairly taxed as far as I know. However, I would guess if you can have portamento and legato, and you have some extra processor time left, allowing a parameter slide would be fairly similar to a pitch slide.
If the Korg Monologue can do it, it’d be embarrassing if the Elektron boxes can’t. Just a per track or pattern setting to smooth parameter changes or not would suffice.
Ooo Parameter Smoothing. Not a bad idea!
Smoothing On/Off
Smoothing Rate Control (or step count based scaling)
On midi tracks, for Random lfos, Phase is written instead of Slew indeed. Hope they will correct that…
As said later in the conversation, MIDI resolution may not allow for Slew… Though, thinking about it, if LFO can do SIN, there is enough resolution for curves so why not…
As there are waveforms like sine, triangle, expo, etc, I absolutely don’t see why slew should be out of midi lfos.
With OT I used Exp lfo on pitch, res was enough to make a fast kick envelope. Wasn’t steppy.
So please don’t say it wouldn’t be appropriate…
Also steppy behavior depend on the midi gear you control, its interpolation possibilities.
It does allow it…because as you said…
Hopefully I’m wrong/talking bollocks and it’s in fact totally doable and coming soon
Tuesday. They just forgot it…
Don’t know why, but something about the conversation today has got me optimistic that the new Overbridge for the DT2 will actually be a firmware update to enable class compliant multichannel usb audio. The new Overbridge is there is no overbridge. One can dream.
Already doable !
Slew works for midi tracks.
Just a parameter naming problem.
@amaury.
I get the feeling it is not as much a resource issue, as an interface issue. Slide trigs can be pretty confusing the way they were implemented on the older boxes, it was never really clear to me what was sliding to what. The older devices had a concept of having a few different sequencers all kind of layered on top of one another. Like the MNM has Amp trigs, LFO trigs, filter trigs, and slide trigs. The OT has rec trigs, playback trigs, swing trigs, and slide trigs. That can get really confusing having a bunch of things layered like that, so I think Elektron have gotten away from that method of interfacing with the sequencer. So it wouldn’t be a really nice fit to add slide trigs the way they used to be. I would be really interested to see an updated version of slide trigs and how that could work in the more modern sequencer paradigm.
Hah! Being wrong never felt so right, cheers
And midi lfos are pretty capable.
For test I used midi loopback, a looped single cycle and modulated its pitch with a midi track. Multiply is limited to 32 but it worths a try.
For DT2 audio tracks I’d rather use their own lfos, but it can add 2 lfos, going up to 5.
Can be used to modulate modulations, velocity…
Midi CCs for Euclidean seq please !
Sure, you could and can use it like this, why not.
I had some synths that would choke on such things, because their midi processing was sloppy to say it nice.
I wouldn’t, and thats it for me
It’s a good overview. He did remind me of a feature request. There should be some button combination to show via LEDs which tracks have had a sample assigned manually already. I struggle with this too sometimes, and have assigned a new sample to an already ocupied track several times. I know its just a click and turn away to fix, but still…
