Introducing Digitakt II

Same for me, my input seems to have a good level for monitoring, but never try for sampling

What are your sources ?
Do you currently have another Digi to compare with ?
I used Yamaha Reface CP and Hydrasynth as sources, DT2 inputs were much lower than ST.
I don’t think their was such a difference with DT1.

I wouldn’t be against a way to push input levels till distortion. :content:
Insert fx (BRR, OD, SRR) for inputs.

I have the OG Digitakt just before the DG2, and I don’t notice any difference

Moog Sirin. After thought, with the same settings on both DTs (input level at 32), I have to put the Sirin Volume halfway instead of a quarter.

Do you mean DT1 and DT2 ?
Would be interesting to record the SIRIN quarter and half way levels in the same recording…(on DT2). Same sequence.

Could you elaborate ?

It’s simple, I don’t notice any difference when I send my modular with a befaco line output with the digitakt 2 and my digitakt OG that I got 3 months ago.

The thing to clarify with the input is if there’s something in between the source and the DT (like a mixer).

When I go straight from the source to the DT, the low line level is very noticeable. So I use a mixer to add gain and bring the level up.

The input is low on the DT

Yes.

The input is so low on the DT2 that I end up tripping over it.

Finally Touching the DT2 for the first time today, definitely would have appreciated an SD Card Slot as this instrument is a samplist dreamlab… it doesn’t make sense to pound the fact that this instrument is a drum computer into one’s head and be in denial of it’s highly desirable sample manipulating workflow… makes much more sense to embrace it because it’s really the heart of the instrument along with it’s sequencing ethos, trying to restrict one’s view of this instrument to a drum computer only would be a futile attempt to wallow in futility me thinks.

Any Higher resolution sample slicing, editing, and workflows geared towards sample based production will be a boon to this instrument.

DT2 is what you make it because of its sample engine :facepunch:t3::level_slider:

DT2 + Virus is an absolute DREAM with the new MIDI conveniences.

Yeah, no SD card is a pretty big bummer. I don’t really want to get this thing near a computer to transfer files constantly as it wouldn’t sit near one. I also agree with the slicing, I’m not really sure how better slicing hasn’t been implemented yet, but I’d have to think it’s coming soon after they squash bugs.

Interesting. Is yours from a new(er) batch perhaps?

Elephant in the room but I would not be at all surprised if the low input level issue is a hardware fault (from the descriptions it certainly sounds like it) and therefore cannot be properly fixed by firmware apart from by massively bringing to the noise floor. Could also explain the delay whereby they’re debating the best path forward. All speculation of course!

I hope I’m wrong and caveat I haven’t yet tried a DTII/experienced the issue myself.

Exactly the one I use along with this one which is also a Baseus product that they say will power Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, etc.
Zero issues with either so far :+1:t2::beers:
