Well it really depends on the source that set the reverb for. Most often one or a few sounds will determine the settings and the other sounds just follow.
I do like darker reverbs. and to make sure the lowend isn’t reverberated. So my input filter will often be around hp: 50+ and LP to taste. If you want to get rid of the hissyness when playing high frequency energy through it, lower the lp.
The feedback shelving is great to create a dark verb. The lower the gain and frequency the faster the reverb decays, so compensate by setting the decay time higher.
And during performance it’s nice to higher the gain to make the verb brighter and decay longer for subtle and less subtle build ups for example.
I have a lot of trouble getting the Elektron reverb algorithm to sound how I like for percussion as well. I was hoping it would sound better in the DTII. Maybe, they’ll finally introduce some new algorithms to choose from with the newer units.
It’s possible but unlikely. Since the AH+FX is their dedicated FX unit now I think whatever happens there translates to possibilities for the rest of the product catalog. I have voiced demand for algorithms as well, or at the least, more tools like pitch shifting to DIY.
The Elektron reverb and delay are essentially your bread and butter, building block style of reverb/delay and that’s how they should be viewed. They are still comparably more advanced than what most synths in the same price range ship with. Due to the page diving nature of Elektrons, a lot of people I have talked to have sometimes never even been aware that there are dedicated pages for reverb & delay where you have deeper config options.
Can anybody tell if it’s possible to run the DT2 on a battery pack? Tried it with my DN and a MyVolts, but i had a weak battery pack, so no avail there.
Considering the DT2 has a much heavier load/demand in power??? It would would also need a lot more power?..
Anyone here taking the DT2 outside, and what battery pack you say would be sufficient?
(still waiting for mine to arrive - ETA 24may- , but with the nice weather and all…)
Does anybody else think the Stretch machine is… pretty poor? It’s considerably worse than the OT’s, I can’t get a usable sound out of it without awful artifacts even at the same pitch and tempo. It flat out doesn’t work right for samples shorter than a “bar” as it analyses a sample based on it being 1-8 bars long. So if you want a short flute one shot to stay the same length as you change pitch, it just does not sound good and there’s little you can do to optimise it. The OT’s time stretch, as dated as people make it out to be, is still the clear winner (despite workarounds needed to go beyond an octave either side for repitching). It just feels like you’re wrestling with it constantly, very unintuitive. Currently the only machine I find useful as an OT owner is oneshot, and that’s a shame
Same Impression…i thought stretch is better than OT, but it’s worse….hope they will improve the hole machine. Somehow I think DT2 is not yet ready…the Loop Page Feature is great, but not useable in Live Situations…also the Perform Kit Function not remembering the pattern mutes…Sample-Transfer…lots of thinks to improve!
is there a possibility to lock a pattern (with all used samples)? somehow i’m destroying other patterns while working on new ones and i think it didn’t happen that often on the OGDT.
If you want to avoid destroying other patterns, you have to avoid removing samples that are used by other patterns.
How come you replace samples in your project? There are so many slots now!
i currently don’t have the OGDT at hand, but if i’m right the OGDT added required samples for presets in the next free slot instead of replacing it (that’s what happening on DT2)
