Along the lines of https://kentaro.tools/, Dillon Bastan, AVAL, fors.fm, RSL devices, Rainbow circuit, encoderaudio, novel music…
what are some devices/and or max for live developers you’ve enjoyed/whose work you’ve enjoyed lately?
Looking for unique/“creative” stuff, but anything you’ve really liked!
This is awesome - cheers! I love it. Simple, fun, and many uses. Feels like a stripped down version of what something like Pathways by Dillon Baston does, but without all the spectral stuff. Think this will be great for quick/rhythmic textures.
A quick question on this one if anyone has any details. I notice that the Rainbow Circuit device Whistle has very mixed reviews (with no comments…) on Gumroad. And on Isotonic, it’s a different device completely called Whistle Two, but the one on Rainbow Circuit looks newer and more updated in design.
Has anyone tried this device recently, and shed any light on the “correct” version?
If you fancy Effectrix/Shaperbox without the faff of directly sequencing/drawing in steps and effects - this is a great one to pick up. It’s almost like an chance based auto mangler. Seems good for glitch, but also good for gently shaping a sound with some interesting rhythmic effects.
This looks fun. From what I can see it’s a bit like a minimised version of Playbeat where you get some lanes (in this case 5) and those lanes get notes/hits added. It works for percusssion and melody. It would be fantastic to have this run to 8 lanes (I guess you could just stack them?) as this would in effect give you Playbeat style control over randomisation, all in a neat little M4L device.
If you like thi one, ijo already has a somewhat similar device…
No worries, i beleive the second version was an exclusive in a different store but the developer was happy to have both versions out there as they were different enough
ps., thank you very much, not been here long and i’m actually really enjoying it as i’m not finding the overall negativity i’ve experienced in other online forums!
