Yeah Orbit 2. I’ve wanted that mixer since they first came out under the MasterSounds umbrella. ![]()
Extremely cool mixer.
Doesn’t exactly replace the Bebe Cherie with its per-channel drive on the first 4 tracks, or the integrated compressor.
This does have a lot of features the Bebe Cherie does not (send knobs, clickless mutes, etc). I love that this makes more use of the case real-estate for more controls.
I’m using a Bebe Cherie as a multi-bus warmer/mastering, but for most use cases the Jellymix would be awesome to have.
Finding a good compressor or end of chain device is a challenge and I think the usual suspects have been mentioned. AH is on the list of course but I hope Intellijel will try their hands at one at some point. They made Jellysquasher for eurorack a very long time ago so it’s long time coming and would fit nicely as a semi-modular box.
This mixer is near perfect for me!
It’s impossible to tick off everyone’s unique wish list for a mixer, but this comes extremely close! One thing I would have liked to see is some sort of direct out per channel for multitrack recording. That way we wouldn’t need built-in USB, and people could use whatever interface suits them best.
Of course, there’s barely any room left on this thing for extra sockets so maybe 3.5mm smaller sockets or something else, like an RJ45 Ethernet port on the back.
same as looking for another eurorack mixer as I have tons of modular stuff and been thinking of way to link them together and create submixes to master mixdown. I have a 1010 Bluebox and TX-6 and they are so-so but a pain to chain lot of eurorack stuff together. Having a master mixer to link 4-6 modulars together to create the final mix would be nirvana. I figure can stick in small eurorack palette case as desktop mixer or look at something like OTO Bebe Cherie.
This was posted above, this has drive per channel also.
Yes, a super nice (imo) Soft Clip on the Channels, Filters and Output. Sounds great when you crank the gains and lower the levels for a crunchy mix.
This looks wonderful but I would want at least a couple of mono inputs. I wonder how many people with “groovebox” type setups are using five stereo devices and no mono devices. Not meant as a criticism, and I get you can just use mono centered. Is there such a thing as a standalone passive pan pot? ![]()
You can just plug on mono to the L input and it will be normaled to R as well. So you can have up to 5 mono synths if you want to or 2 mono and 3 stereo etc ![]()

Why is TX-6 a pain to chain eurorack together? Just ordered one for that purpose (among other uses).
small size but it can work if you get the special Teenage Engineering cables. I love mine as the ultimate tiny portable battery powered mixer. Maybe it is because I have fat sausage sized fixers and prefer larger knobs and faders. I think TX-6 is a great product if you can accept the tiny knobs and faders. Probably why I want something like a Playdifferent Model 1, Union Audio elara or AlphaTheta Euphonia as my next mixers.
The real issue is no really good dedicated pair of aux send/returns on the TX-6 I mean you can route it but it is clunky versus a dedicated send/return aux. I have alot of effects pedals that I use.
I completely missed this thing somehow. It looks absolutely gorgeous. Am I the only one that’s super bummed out by rocker switches for mutes?
EDIT: paid attention, safe to ignore me
I see. Yea TX-6 for pedals it’s not that great. But good to send to PC or iPad.
Gotta have Jellymix too.
Or just get a Xone 96.
Nope we are all very excited to get one
yeah and same with my 1010 Bluebox mixer. I like them for quick and dirty stuff but right now my main mixer is my Keith McMillen K-mix mixer that thing is super awesome because it has tons of 1/4 inch input and outputs that work great for hardware synthesizers. I never could get the audio interface on it to work but I send it to my RME Babyface for recording to Ableton and Logic anyways. So the challenge I have is what studio/live mixer to get to replace it? I am looking at new hardware mixers like Playdiferently Model 1, Union Audio elara 4/orbit and Xone 96 but the issue is that a) I hate RCA jacks for synths and b) DSUB connectors are a royal PITA to deal with. Thoughts?
Well, with xone 96 you would need to use dsub to access the 3rd aux send anyway. Just connect dsub to a trs patchbay and have access to all inputs/auxs in front of you. Works in the studio not so much live.
so what is a good live/home mixer? I am considering the Solid State SSL SiX desktop mixer as it has good compressor and setup but my concern is long term reliability. Then again stuff does not last as long as it used to unfortunately. I know Dave Mech rocks elara mixer but that uses the dreaded RCA jacks so curious how he has it routed to avoid issues?
I’ve had the SSL SiX over 6 years and it’s been great. The footprint is really small for the functionality, and offers a lot of possibilities and routing all depending on what you need. It sounds great, especiallly having the G comp. The only ‘slight’ frustration is that the main insert and Ch1 & 2 inserts are accessed via a DB-25 connector which feels a little counter intuitive if you wanted to move around and have different configurations in the studio without the hassle of a loom connected (if you wanted to access the inserts). Mine sits on the desk connected to a Ferrofish Pulse so pretty ideal for routing. I’ve seen these used at £650 - £700 which is great for what you get.
oh nice! Yeah I am leaning toward the SSL Six and a Switchcraft patch bay. I probably will need to buy some breakout DSUB to 1/4inch and 1/8 inch cables to route my hardware synths and modulars to the patch bay and the send the patchbay output to the mixer. I need to also figure out how to setup multi-track recording template in my DAW (Logic/Ableton) to record each synth track separate. Ideally want to break out main drum voices on my Jomox, Perkons and Hexdrums so I can lay down various dry and wet configurations for kick, snare, clap and hi hats for various types of music goals since darkwave, industrial, techno, trance and rock have different needs. No rush as I am doing this studio reconfiguration over time as budget and time permits. I am having to become not only a musician but hardcore audio recording engineer! I even considered going back to univerity for a degree in music and audio production as it is a passion. I will see if the local college has a good part time program and studio for the audio engineering stuff. I doubt that AI will ever replace quality sound and audio engineering! It is such a deep rat hole that it is like software engineering. Just EQ is a large topic in itself.
Not to turn this into an SSL thread,
but this might give you some insight of a use case (although not entirely DAW specific). It doesn’t seem to be online anymore, but I’d made a PDF of the page a while back. I couldn’t find much out there tbh at the time, so worth a read.

Hoping this Jellymix will replace my mackies (8 & 12 channel models). Seems like a perfect in between option.
