FYI: Perfect Circuit has a demo unit at the moment for 10% off. someone please buy it before I cave…
imho the sound is unflattering.
I know what you mean, I was out for dinner the other day with a Cascadia and I was wearing this lovely little number. Did I get a single bit of flattery out of it?
Did I fuck.
Nothing but modular fart sounds.
You try eating a salted caramel ganache listening to simulated flatulence.
Worst date ever.
while I love the idea of it’s potential, my ears wish the heart of dreadbox was inside it.

It does seem to be pretty polarizing. People either love it or hate it. I’m in the “love it” camp. The moment I saw and heard it, I was like, “I have to have it.”
Im sure you looked lovely. Dont worry about Cascadia, most modular synths are pompous self absorbed twats.
Try Linder, its like Tinder, but it hooks you up with Russian Drone Synths.
What’s not to love about the sound of this synth? Genuine question.
The converters are not up to par!!
They traded workflow for sound SMH /s
Honestly I think people are just publicly talking themselves out of buying something. Literally no matter what features a synth has, what legendary recordings it has been on, or value to the consumer, one can find faults (oh, there is only one LFO!). If no fault can be adequately articulated then it’s time to call the synth thin/cold/brittle or other unquantifiable characterization and declare that it’s a rip off or scam. The mistake is taking these declarations at face value.
Just use your ears and consider if the interface might inspire you to actually make some music and decide if that’s worth the price you would pay. Please share the music you make
I think there’s just not a lot of great demos on it. I would agree that the base sound is a bit sterile and not super characterful (again it reminds me of my beloved Cwejman S1 in this way). fortunately there’s a ton of options there to add character.
here’s my favorite demo so far. skip the walkthrough if you already know the synth, and just listen to the various patches.
Love this clip, think this was what got me interested in the first place, wish he had made it without any external processing though
probably just wanted to show off the guitar pedal FX send they built in.
this is quite nice. simple. kind of like “SH-101 with a bit more modulation” sounding. I know most people like to go insane with modular/semi-modular but I like viewing them as just “a synth with a ton of options” so I like demos like this

feel the same way
What’s the learning curve on something like this?
A taiga or the moog semi Modular trio are about as deep and experienced as I get on anything Modular.
Is something like this exponentially harder to figure out/patch?
I wouldn’t think it’s really any more complicated than those systems.
Cheers!
