Input/output can I use a TRS cable?

Hi,

Do I need to use 2 x unbalanced cables for the input and 2 X unbalanced for the output?

Is it possible to use a TRS cable? The reason I ask is I’m trying to save some inputs for another synth.

TRS works for both input and output on the heat.

Thanks for the replies. I have some Y cables balanced I think, need to check. I’ll use them and see how it works out.

A balanced connection is always mono.

So you are actually talking about going unbalanced, going to L+R with a single cable? If so, then connect your Y-quarter inch cable to the headphone out. If you try to send a balanced mono output into two unbalanced inputs with a Y-cable, you are wiring it “wrong” in a technical sense.

Yeah I was going to go L/R output to a single input on my sound card. I’ll just keep it the way it is, no problem and at the same time read up on my cables on what they can do and where they can be used.

But are your sound card inputs unbalanced stereo TRS, or balanced mono TRS? Big diff between the two
