I’ve been spending the last few days exploring my Elektron Tonverk, and one of the first things I tried to do was set up an infinite note (one that keeps playing without retriggering), which I haven’t been able to achieve.
As far as I can tell, the note length (length) can only be set up to a maximum of 128 steps. I’d expect to be able to set an infinite note, as is possible on other Elektron sequencers.
This feels especially odd considering the sequencer itself can go up to 256 steps.
Setting the release to maximum is not an option for me.
On other Elektron devices, what I usually do is combine an infinite note with trig conditions (for example, to make it play only on the first cycle), but here I can’t even get to that point since infinite note length isn’t available.
Is there any way to achieve a truly infinite note in this case?
Also, is there any official channel where feature requests like this can be submitted? I consider this quite a fundamental feature.
I do have the amp envelope set to ADSR mode, as you mentioned. However, setting the release to maximum isn’t really an option for me. On Elektron devices, the release isn’t meant to act as a “gate” that lasts infinitely. On other Elektron sequencers, you could select an infinite note length directly, but on the Twerk the maximum is still 128 steps.
Setting the release to maximum with a polyphonic introduces unwanted effects, so it doesn’t achieve the sustained effect I’m looking for. What I want is a note that truly holds indefinitely, not just a long release.
Thanks for your suggestion!
Some alternatives are coming up slowly, though of course it would have been ideal to do it directly like on other Elektron sequencers.
I really appreciate your input.
