In ear Shure SE215

hi folks…

i just lllllove the Shure SE215 … I am not a drummer, but I am a Subway Commuter and boy do I hate the conversations other people have, street noise etc …

the Shure block out sound so so so very much that I could not be happier …

I even put up with the fiddling it properly into my ear …

and the memory foam also became dirty quite quickly… well, ears just do that…

BUT

the cable keeps breaking on me! I am now on my 4th cable, warranty covered the 3 new ones, but today, I think after just over 2 years (no warranty left) one of the speakers broke …

I would like a slightly better quality piece which blocks the sound in a similar way …

ALSO a big plus was the cable went behind my ears, so there was less microphony (noise through the cable when it bumped on my shirt or jacket)

PLUS … I always had a little clip attached near my neck so there was hardly any weight excerted …

your thoughts?

(ups, a gigantic long post again)

I used to have a pair of Shure in ear buds, and I freakin loved them. They broke eventually, but I’m pretty sure that was my fault for treating them kind of roughly. I don’t think Shure intended for their high end studio monitor buds to be used as ‘daily commuters’, which often get coiled up and stuffed into a pocket.

I only use buds around the $50 price range for out of studio listening, now.
