Hi, I’m thinking of buying a field recorder and I’m new to the subject… How I can import the sounds I record directly into my Digitakt? Is Audio Out a usual field recorder feature?
your field recorder will likely have a line out/headphone out, so either route it from there to the DT input and record, or upload the recordings to your computer, and then add to the DT via the transfer app (? i no longer own a DT). id go with the latter myself
I would really prefer to skip the computer step…
I use a Zoom H4n to record source/field material, then usually just connect its output to the DT and sample straight in.
Then I flip it around and use the H4 as a 2-track recorder for recording jams/mixes out of my DT (and other hardware)… it’s a very useful piece of kit to have.
Anyway, it’s very easy to do what you ask… either by recording directly in or transferring files in. 
Would all that be possible with a more basic model such as the h1n or the tascam dr 05x? (I mean, recording jams etc?)

I have an ancient (by today’s standards) Tascam DR05 (or something, its like over a decade old) and it has both line in for recording and line out for headphones. I’ve not used it to play samples directly into my Digitakt (though I do this with my smartphone) but I do often to this day record jams to it. I only JUST replaced it with a 1010 Bluebox for recording jams. Like literally this month lol. Very serviceable. Eats batteries is my only complaint : )

As long as the recorder has a line in they should all work. They might require a 1/4” to 1/8” cable since most only have a 1/8” in.
I have used a simple Olympus handheld recorder fo 10+ years and it’s still a great tool.
best way i found was to do the recordings. then take them off the recorder and add them to a folder to desktop computer. with dates and types of recording if you like. then open the elektron transfer tool. then upload whatever samples you like (perhaps after some lite editing in daw to snip anything you dont want but this is optional). then add the field recordings into a neat folder mirroring your desktop folder… you can then work on long samples with silent p’locks if its a long sample and LFO start points and arrange accordingly to add to your music. i found this be the most organised way rather than sending the audio out straight into the dt as i then have a copy of it also. youll find the best way for you in no time.

Yes, the H1n can do the same thing, it just has audio ins and outs on 1/8" mini-jacks, but I’m sure it’ll work fine.
