I'm looking for stores that sell interesting musical instruments

Hello everyone, are there any shops selling interesting exotic musical instruments anywhere in World? For example, I’m looking for shops like Instrumente | Tribu Music Store. If you have any information and would be willing to share it, I would be very grateful.

Amazon are your best bet. They seem to have everything.

Indeed they should. After all, they are based in the rainforest.

Ray Man in Camden used to be a little chaotic treasure chest of wild and obscure eastern musical instruments. With the owner himself being quite a character and always up for engaging.

They closed a few years back as COVID destroyed their trade. I think they tried to make a go of it online, but not sure if they are still at it.

They said at one point on their Facebook page that they would be able to help with sourcing exotic instruments via their instagram page https://www.instagram.com/raymaneasternmusic/?hl=en - but it doesn’t look like its been updated in three years.

Very sad, few such shops left

Hobgoblin Music Lots of unusual string instruments and folk instruments but other unusual instruments too.

They have shops across the UK

and one in Red Wing Minnesota USA

The UK shops have been on hard times but they seem to be getting by.

They have everything, but unfortunately 99% of it is junk. Especially true for musical instruments. An additional challenge is that you get terrible stuff rated 4 stars simply because it’s cheap (even if it’s terrible), so it can be hard to sort the wheat from the chaff. I’ve encountered this a few times with acoustic instruments on there.

That said, if you find something you like with a brand you trust you can often find it sold on Amazon which might make it easier to get.

A lot of shops use Amazon now because of the free packaging. For instance Behringer and Lego.

Absolutely - but you kind of need to know about the brand and what they offer by learning about it outside of Amazon. Wading through an Amazon search without that knowledge is basically the same as shopping on Temu.

Hopefully you have some knowledge to start with. ie good brands. You should research before buying anything.
