Ideas/questions for OT and eurorack (mutant brains/varigate)

I have a Mutant Brain module from Hexinverter and a Varigate4+ from Malekko that I’m trying to get comfortably synced up with my mk2 OT. I currently have the Mutant Brain patched to send clock gate signals at various subdivisions from the OT through outputs 9-12. 9 being a quarter note pulse, 10 being 8th notes, 11 being 16th notes and 12 effectively running as a reset that triggers once at the beginning of every measure. I’m running the outputs 9(quarter note) and 12(reset) into the clk in and reset on the varigate. The problem I am running into is I can’t seem to get the OT to stop sending clock signals to the mutant brain even when everything is fully stopped on the OT. Because of this the varigate continues to run its sequencer which is more of an annoyance rather than a real issue as long as I’m not performing. Regardless, I feel like I’ve tried every possible setting combination in regards to midi output from the OT. Was curious if anybody had encountered anything similar and had any solutions. Figure it might just be a communication quirk between the OT and the Mutant Brain.

I think the clock signal is sent all the time even when sequence is not running so this is expected behaviour.
I gues one workaround would be if you used one MIDI chanel as a clock source - place trigs at desired intervals 1/4 or 1/8 and those will be sent only when pattern is running and in sync with OT

I’ll say in advance that my post may be incorrect (I can’t check details currently) but I thought it may help you.

I have the cv.ocd which, I believe, the mutant brain is based on. I recall on the cv.ocd there is a way to tell it to ignore clock when getting a midi stop message. I forget the details but I’m 99% sure I had my octa into cv.ocd into various eurosequencers such that hittings stop (or maybe double tap?) would do the right thing on the sequencers.

I’ll try to recall this better when I’m with my gear but thought I’d mention it in case it helps you.
