Idea to avoid T8 re-compressing Transition Trick loops

this might not be new, but I just thought of it and it seems like it gives good results:
I’m using the Crossfader Transition trick + Master Track (filter + comp)

as many of you noticed, when resampling from T8 the recording gets passed through the Compressor again, changing the dynamics of the loop… (I know - unless you use CUE as source… but that’s adding too much trouble to my workflow - I already have to remember to have T7 on, reload the part in case I’ve messed around with the loop/fx, etc.)

So, what I just tried is, on SCENE B (T1-6 > XVOL MIN | T7(resampling) > XVOL MAX ) also adding a parameter lock where I the Compressor MIX down to 0… that way it keeps the same volume/dynamics.

anyone else messed with this before?
sorry I created a new thread, I don’t want it to be buried in an infinite post right away :pensive:

I did the same last week, and it works perfect (at least for me)!

Where do you place that p-lock?

On Scene B I suppose…

But I don´t get how does it record without the effect…

I’ve not enough time to check, maybe record with fx, play without…

On scene B - so the loop doesn’t get re-compressed

Does this mean that in the moment of resampling, the compressor is not audible (thus not recorded), but when you exit Scene B, you can hear it again?

So it just means you pay the price of not hearing the compressor for a moment?

Hmm I’m not sure I understand what you mean… Scene A is playing, with the compressor. I resample the main out, then move to scene B (transition trick) so I only hear the loop, with a p-lock on the compressor so it’s not compressed twice. Since I transition fast from A to B, you shouldn’t notice the change. Then I select another pattern and transition back to scene A… And yes, you might hear some compression as you go back to scene A but it’s not an issue for me… Specially since I usually filter the loop before mixing it with the new pattern
