iConnectivity mioXM with Overbridge

Hi Does anyone know if it’s possible to connect the Digitakt and Digitone to the iConnectivity mioXM USB midi host and still use Overbridge,

My plan is to use the iConnectivity mioXM in standalone for a Dawless setup, using the usb midi host on the iConnectivity mioXM to trigger the Digitakt and Digitone only using the USB cables,

But when I want to record the individual tracks, to a DAW, using the same setup as above, that the computer would pick up the connects for Overbridge via iConnectivity mioXM usb midi hub

I think it’s possible, I do not own the mioXM but I think it’s possible.
You’ve tried ?

Not possible. What i do is use the din midi to connect my a4 (and soon digitone as well) to the mio and then that allows me to connect the usb directly to the computer for overbridge. You CAN use the mio usb host ports to connect the elektron boxes if you want to use usb midi but the mio won’t automagically allow overbridge audio streams into your computer.

Not possible Overbridge needs USB, use DIN for midi and USB for Overbridge.

That’s how I set them up.

Or you could buy. A simple USB switch so you can alternate between Overbridge and dawless mode.

I use this for devices that needs the computer for config, so I can easily switch between my mioXL and the computer for some of my USB MIDI devices.

I thought maybe after the new update for the Digitakt which makes it class compliant, may allow audio streams on USB via mioXM

USB switch sounds good, any suggestions

Well it’s more the difference between a USB hub and a USB host. The mio series does never act as USB hub it can only act as a USB host.
I use several Ugreen USB switches, I bought them from Amazon, they have been working flawless.

Thanks, just as I thought, how does the signal path work,

Rather simple, single usb cable to your device and from the two ports 1 cable to your computer and the other to you mioXM.

Can you use Transfer with you mioxl turned on? I have to turn my mio10 off (or unplug) everytime I want to move samples

Having my the DT connected with USB directly to the computer and to mioXL via DIN i had no issues at all. Was seamless using overbridge as well as using the DT in DAWless mode.

Yeah overbridge is fine. Just usb transfer. Repros every time

No problem with transfer either as long as the USB setting on the DT was setup correctly.

Thanks for the info, it’s that I have a Digitakt and the Digitone, this would mean I need a hub as well? if so I will buy the Elektron hub,

Yes if you do not have more than 1 port free you need a hub. Any quality hub will do, I have the Overhub and it works great, but so will any other quality USB hub.

the MioXM cant send audio over usb, only data. The (old) midi2+ can send audio and data... -stay with the mioxm, it opens up so many opportunities Im sure you found a way to set it up.
