I don’t know about you, but every time a trusted community member swaps their avatar, I’m pretty confused. I recognize most users more by their avatar than their name. Sooo, how about we give people a quick heads up if we change our avatar and maybe post the old one as well ? It’s also an opportunity to explain what the new avatar means and why you’ve changed it (if you want to).
This was triggered by @Tchu changing his avatar, so maybe he wants to go first ? I’ll also do this soon and will follow up.
On a more serious note, I think I needed a change and this Avatar represents me the most. It’s a picture of Montreal from the Mont-Royal. I’ve used it for my last Album (Where We Can Be Loud, inspired by @Azzarole). I like the idea of this thread.
This is the most recent picture (in colour) of my Avatar took this Summer on a smogy day. No post processing on this one.
This is lovely! I’ve never been to Montreal and this reminds me that I’d love to visit one day.
Mine is one of my album covers. The art was made by a close friend who is an extraordinarily talented artist. They put a ton of work into it and I’m just thrilled they had the time/ energy to let me commission them. At some point, I’m going to get a proper print made so I can put it on my wall.
Hahah. Same here. It’s not been the same since @craig lost his yellow hat. Now @Tchu. God help us when @circuitghost grows up, or @Fin25 turns into a cute kitten.
Yours feels naturally interchangeable. You could be a new one depending on mood, and it would still be you.
I changed mine some time ago, for the longest time was just the generic assigned first letter…I was bored of it but figured why not play around with it instead of changing it entirely, so I used it as an image map to parameterise a growth algorithm that made it look kind of crinkly.
