I can't save anything on the Syntakt anymore

I’ve just found out that I can’t save anything on the Syntakt. FUNC + Cog Wheel and save Patterns don’t work anymore. I did a Test Mode : 0 Errors. The Project is not locked. I did a Backup. Anyone has encountered this? Thanks!

And, of course, I have a gig coming on.

I’ve contacted Elektron Support but if I can get any advice before they get back to me, I will appreciate it.

Have you tried saving the whole project to a new slot?

Yes.

And the same thing is happening in every project?

It’s not a locked project?

Yes I did.

When was your last backup and what is current OS?

Last Backup : October 2024

Is it possible that you’ve reached capacity for storage?

Interesting thought. I don’t have that much Projects on it. Can we check this?

I’m looking right now to see if there’s a way to check. I would imagine you’d need to be close to the 128 project limit unless some huge single projects, like full sets over many patterns.

I’m looking for info though

Thanks @shigginpit, I’ll check for it too.:pray:

I’d fire up transfer , backup and remove as much as possible project wise .

Try that … will the project loaded in Syntakt actually save

Then add the old projects back onto device

I skimmed the manual and searched some keywords. It only gives numeric limits on how many, like 2048 sounds in the plus drive and 128 projects, but there must be some memory limit.

I imagine it would have to be a lot of content to fill it, but it’s impossible that the limit doesn’t exist. I know your syntakt has been very well loved also, so it’s possible you have more content in those few projects than some do on the whole drive full of projects.

In addition to using the transfer backup, I might try the sysex dump as well, just in case.

I found the same infos and a wrong AI info when asking how to check the capacity on the ST.

<LLM outputting DT1 stuff>

[Mod edit] NO AI-generated content please. It is not reliable information. You always have to dig one step deeper to double-check.

Yeah, it’s just taking the info for digitakt II. Can’t trust it :frowning:

I’ll try this to see if I’ve reached full capacity. Thanks @re5et !:heart:

Let me know what happens, sorry I don’t have any better suggestion than testing for the possibility of full capacity. I also think that’s the best choice right now. Then if necessary elektron support but hopefully can be resolved without the hassle.
